I have not bought hydrangeas bare root but I can see why they do that (less shipping costs). Hydrangeas will have some small roots near the surface and maybe this is the case here. However, I really would have expected some visible roots of some size in each specimen. Just where did you buy this anyway? I would call them back to confirm all is well and just so they (and you) have a note that you called... in case the plants do not make it! Note: I assume they did not send you a specimen of Viburnum also called Snowball Bush.

Where are you located? If you have a spot outside that gets morning to early afternoon sun I would put it outside. Gardenias do really well outside if you can find a spot that doesn’t get too much harsh afternoon sun. If you gardenia is doing well now and you’re not having to water everyday to keep it from drying out (a symptom of being very pot bound) I would wait until fall to repot after it has bloomed. Often growers will allow the gardenias to become very potbound to force a lot of buds for retail sale so it will most likely need to be at least potted up to a 10” container (not too much bigger). Where you’re located will dictate the timing. Lastly the black nursery pot will heat up too much if placed in full sun. If you can put it in a lighter colored pot it will help to keep the roots cooler, but make sure it drains or take it out before you water.

I like my fitbit but I bought it because it linked to my employers wellness program and I got points for steps taken which could be redeemed for amazon gift cards. This year to cut costs they switched to a completely useless program that will link to the fitbit, but you get nothing. It will just say, "hey you met your step goal for today! Yay!" No points, no reward, nothing. So if had known they would be doing that I would not have gotten my new Fitbit when my old one died last year. If I had known that my walking was simply for my own benefit with no points given, I would have just used the pedometer that came on my phone (Samsung health app) or Map My Walk.I have the inspire because it came with a clip option. I wear it on my bra because I do not like really wearing such things on my wrist, and I think the clip ones are more accurate as far as steps counted. As an aside I read that the calories burned feature on these things is completely useless......

Congrats on your new home! There's a lot of potential to give the exterior some needed charm, not sure what your budget is. I think changing the windows to a sliding door would be odd on the front view of the home, but maybe you can consider hanging some pretty sheers in the window so it doesn't look so frumpy from the outside view. I can imagine a ground level paved area in front of windows to have some seating there, with some added landscaping to give it some privacy somewhat while you enjoy sitting out there. That whole area left of garage could be landscaped so mowing the lawn would be just on the front end of garage area. Not sure how you feel about the deck walkway, I would get rid of it, kind of doesn't fit really. Create a nicer walkway with large tiles leading from driveway to front door. What does the backyard look like? Would you be able to move all the doo-dads and yard stuff from the front to the back and enjoy them there? Or consider removing all the yard stuff until you finish updating what you decide to change. I think it could look quite charming when you spruce up what is there and fix up the landscaping. It may take some time but is a doable fun project!
