Hi @Tracy I used Sherwin Williams Pure White for my cabinets, and also used it on all of our trim, doors, and ceiling. The name 'pure white' is deceiving as the color is more of a soft/warm white versus a stark bright white, but it doesn't have a yellow tinge to it ... hopefully that makes sense? I must have watched a gazilion youtube vides comparing different tones of white before landing on 'pure white'! We used knotty alder wood for our stained lower cabinets. I LOVE white oak, but it was not in our budget as we also remodeled our primary bathroom, fireplace and outdoor area (I've attached a pic of our bathroom below - same color palette as the kitchen with agreeable grey on the wall and pure white for the trim and same stain as our kitchen cabinets). I showed our painter a sample of the post oak flooring and had him make up a few custom stain samples that would compliment it. We wanted to go with a more natural look, he ended up only adding a few drops of brown and white into a clear coat to land on the stain that we have. I wonder if you can ask your painter to try and do the same or go into a Sherwin Williams and see what they suggest. I wish it was a straight up answer for you ... unfortunately I don't know what color of brown or white he added to the clear coat or exactly how much of it. I hope this helps! There are so many stressful decisions.

I have seen these homes myself and think they were very nice and they seem to be pretty well built. I have personally built and restored homes for years. I'm getting ready to moved back to Jacksonville, Florida. When I moved there, I'm going to buy a Townhomes built house. I can't build a house this nice for the price. I was very impressed! I have also looked at the Jacobson Manufactured Homes and I really don't see much of a difference. Both seem to be quality homes. The man that owns the Townhomes company was employed by Jacobson Manufactured Homes before he started the company. They have only been in Biz for a short amount of time. (3-4 years) But all I have heard and seen is good. Oh' by the way... No I don't work for the company! LOL I live in Connecticut and was in Florida 4/2008 and was looking at many different homes. This is just my take on the homes I looked at personally.

The Cook's Kitchen Since you know US lines well, can you comment on (or rank) the quality of these lower priced frameless cabinet companies? Thomasville Nouveau at Home Depot (which I believe you said is really Diamond) , Modica at Lowe's, HDI Euro Style https://hdicabinetry.com/euro-series , and IKEA. We want frameless and contemporary but just can't justify the big bucks for some of the pricier frameless lines. I guess my question is really whether there truly is a difference in quality among the lower priced, frameless cabinet companies. Thanks.

@CY CY, Most of the uneven heating issues mentioned about Lacanche (and other brands really) come down to pre-heating the oven properly. Our gas ovens will reach 180 C / 350F in about 10 minutes, the electric ovens take a little longer. I always recommend letting the oven cycle through at least once or twice more, as this allows the entire cavity to heat up to temperature (oven walls and doors). This ensures that the temperature is uniform across the entire oven, and allows for quicker temperature recovery when opening the door. In practice, I notice this every time we bake our local pastries here (~24 pieces per sheet). If we put them in right after the preheat light goes off the first time, those at the back and back corners will brown much faster than the rest. If we wait 10-15 minutes more for the oven to preheat properly, they all come out perfect! Patrick
