Hi all, I'm still here too. Inspite of the ammount of food I ate this week, I am another pound down. This is a psychological breakthrough for me as it puts me in the 40's. Knowing I have to fight to keep it will hopefully give me incentive to say no to the little extras I let slip in. McPeg being idle is hard. I don't know where you work. Could you bring something to keep you fingers busy like quilt squarers, needlepoint or a crossword? It helps me that I made a rule that I cannot eat anything while doing something else. Reading,television,at the computer,outside, talking on the phone....if I eat I must focus on that alone unless dining out with others of course. Otherwise I would be thoughtlessy inhaling my food. Erica, hope things perk-up for you DH (and you) soon. Kathy, use your time with DH gone to do something nice for yourself. Oh how we love them, but sometimes I dream of how easy it would be to be single. Then reality hits and I realize how much we both need each other in so many different ways. Fortunately we are both ones who need alone time and understand that. Alice I just discovered Diet Rite sodas are now made with Splenda and have no calories or sodium. It sounds like you really like your gym. Which do you belong to? I would like to go but I don't like the way most are run today. Everyone have a great holiday weekend. Our friend's cousin was a news anchor in Tampa years ago..with a horrible end to her life. So sad for everyone. I have been listening to "Intuitive Eating" CDs, which accompany the book. It has really helped me identify emotional and mindless eating over the last week. I hope to use this to see if I can just stop dieting. No diet has helped me for long. This shows you a new way to look at all food; nothing is off limits. No guilt over what you choose, but I am definitely eating less during the day. Not getting on the scale either; I'll know if I can break through this mindless stuff. Also cut out 99% of the salt I used; I'm tasting food again. Really wierd but it seems to be clicking with me. Hi Guys! Raeanne: Not to be too picky, but I think YOUR name is a different spelling of Juanita! LOL! Dee:We have one of those bands here in Seattle---an old band that's still around called Jr. Cadillac. Ya gotta love the staying power of these old rockers. Well, I am in the throes of foster parent training. A few years ago, I rode the roller coaster of the adoption process with DH before he halted the process at the last minute...ouch! Anyway, that being water under the bridge, we're going to try fostering instead! I have been taking all the training classes and learning a ton. Yesterday, I had the drug-affected babies class. I've taken 33 hours of classes so far and have about 20 more to go. Our family is getting our FBI and fingerprint check next week! Then CPR, HIV/AIDS/blood pathogens and first aid training. After all that, we'll submit the applicationa nd have 2 or more home studies done, then see what happens. It's my purpose in life right now to get this license! I have lost 1 1/2 pounds since I came back to my SS gal pals (and the elusive John). Thanks to you guys, I am eating Uncle Sam's and yogurt for brekky and curbing (sort of-lol!) my nighttime eating. Baby steps! Now, for the exercise part!!!! Well, I have to de-weed my front yard, then I'm off to the ferry line!

Hi Everyone! I am more than happy to join in with ya's. I've been in a slump that has been going on for months now. I have always tried to exercise at least a couple of times a week, but I just haven't been able to get motivated on my own here lately. Reading all of your posts, I feel like I can tackle the world. As I am so proud of myself for kicking the smoking habit (addiction) that I had for many years, I now find myself about 15 pounds overweight. Soooo, here I go! My favorite exercise is walking. I live in a very small town. One lap around all the streets is approximately one and a half miles. I am gonna try my best to do 3 laps every other day. So I'd appreciate everyone sending me lots of walking vibes! I always look forward to reading these posts. Pam in Indiana
