Good Monday all,

I hope everyone had a good weekend.

Amy, it was good to see your post. I hope you will be able to log on an share when you can. Time flies for sure.

BJ, thanks for sharing Amy's post.

We had a good weekend. Saturday was beautiful for riding. Yesterday was cloudy and cold. Still it was nice to be home with nothing that HAD to be done.

Good morning!

Just got in from a great walk. Low humidity makes it so nice.

Suzanne, loved your picture and so glad to see Sweet Pea up and going strong.

We went to New Orleans with friends for the weekend. Ole Miss was playing Tulane at the Superdome. We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton which was so beautiful. Saw lots of old friends. Some had not seen me since I lost my weight, so that made it even more fun. Made me even more determined to stay with it. We did a lot of walking/shopping. Ate shrimp remoulade at the Bon Ton. I ordered the small portion, so don't feel like I did too badly. But the next day I had chargrilled oysters with melted butter and parmesan cheese at Drago's (they taste like steak they are so good), with good crusty French bread to dip in the butter sauce. THEN for dinner one night I had veal bolognese at Maximo's. Thank goodness it was just a weekend - ha! Ivamae, it will be hard to weigh in on Wednesay, but at least I'll know where the pounds came from!

Happy MONDAY!

The cruise was great and I'm busy catching up with e:mails and other issues at work. I have not lost weight, but I did not gain an ounce while on that ship. Did lots of walking and eating smaller portions. I tried everything, but did not eat all of everything, so I'm OK.

Raeanne, I think I have some time in May 2011 free (LOL!), so I need to see what this Girlfriends stuff is all about!

Tikanis, I'm not sure about early October, as DH and I wanted to make a run to NC to check on the house. I'll let you know if I can make it out to see you.

BJ, you are amazing!

Maddie, hope all is well with your project.

Marci, you look great out there in the water. Keep your spirits up in work, I think about you often during the school day hours.

Amy, thanks for checking in with us. Sorry that you and Heather are not feeling well. Sending you both some special thoughts.

Suzanne, you and SP always look so relaxed together. Thanks for sharing your special moments.

Last 15 months: Dec 2003- Went ot Alaska for Christmas w/ my family, first time in 15 years. Wonderful. January 2004 - DH decided he needed to separate and went looking for a place of his own. I received emails, cards and support from my SS sisters and DH & I went to counseling and started some work. May 2004 - My yearly visit with my Kentucky family and MADDIE! Loved it and LOVE her. Spring 2004 - Exchanged a series of emails with DeeMarie and we learned a lot about each other. Very fun and lovely conversations. Beautiful person, she is. June 2004 - Surrendered my dog to keep my husband. Painful but necessary. Again, lots of support from here. Summer 2004 - Spent living in Alaska. Drove up and down the state and had a killer time. Loved it but was happy when I got home in the fall, then I got homesick for Alaska - lol. September 2004 - Went to NY and met Raeanne and her DH- visit too short and had TOO much fun! The people are so fantastic that we're thinking of moving to that coast in a few years! Scoping weather and property now. DH started 2nd year of law school - only 1 more to go after this. I started back to college to finish a degree I started many years ago. All children in school. Dec 2004 - Had DH's family here for holidays. So stressful, DH blew a gasket and almost left again. Back to counseling...and deal making. Lots better now that family's gone. January - Signed up for another college load; continuing to work toward that piece of paper I want. Becoming aware that time flies when you don't have any. Signed up at WW Core Program. Determined to lose weight and be healthy. Still here, after many years and still checking in really regularly. Planning a trip to east coast in March to scout a place to live when we finally move. KYSusie~ Good to hear from you. Keep on truckin' toward wellness. Hi, everyone. Thanks for the kind thoughts. It has been a month since I lost Bobby, and I am just going through the motions. So much to do, and just can't shake being overwhelmed. I'm trying to be "normal." My neighbors have had me to dinner several nights, again tonight. My friend who used to help with my pre-Katrina yard called and invited me to go to a movie with his friend. He knew how much I loved the book "Water for Elephants" so we went to see the movie. (Robert Pattison is so gorgeous, and Hal Holbrook makes me cry.) Our best friends who live out of town call at least once a day to check on me. I've gotten where I report in to them, like a teenager, if I'm going to be out. We've made a joke out of it, but it warms my heart that they care so much. Ivamae, I'm so glad you're handling radiation so well. Have they given you any cream for your redness? There's no reason you should have any discomfort while enduring treatment. When my sister was having radiation, I remember finding a cream online, actually created by a doctor whose wife had gone through radiation while battling (and winning) her fight against breast cancer. My sister said it helped a lot. He had a complete line of related products, such as shampoo, etc. If I can find more info, I'll let you know. Again, thanks to all of you for thinking of me. The girls' weekend sounds like so much fun - I also can't wait to hear all about it.

The weather was indeed perfect, albeit hot and humid for such a meeting. Saratoga is a lovely, small and old city with lovely architecture. I was right at home with the horse statues that lined the lovely main boulevard called Broadway! Saratoga as you may know is home to some very elite horse racing, amoung other things. Raeanne and I met early and perused the shops before meeting DeeMarie. I spotted Raeanne immediately at our meeting place. Her hair is done in a modern cut that kicks out in a playful way! I love the color and style Raeanne, it's so you! Her eyes are still a beautiful and brillant blue! After shopping we went to the meeting place for Dee but she wasn't there so we proceeded to the restaurant meeting place. As we were crossing the street I could see a woman waving in our general direction and I knew at once it was DeeMarie!! How wonderful that she spotted us and I felt so special that as I waved, she waved back. It was a fun exchange. So it was there at the restaurant that I meet our wonderful DeeMarie. She has the most wonderful and expressive big brown eyes and I knew at once that I had a wonderful and caring friend for life! It's amazing at how we women, and man, communicate and have become such fast friends! We shared a wonderful lunch. Okay, Dee and Raeanne did. I had the luck to order one of the worst things I have ever had and it was ironic a because everyone else had a wonderful meal before them...........figures. We shared a bottle of lovely white wine alfresco which was really good against the heat of the day! After lunch we went to our card reading................boy was that enlightening!! This woman had a great deal to tell me that was very accurate!! She is a gifted woman and I think we all came away with some new info!! Then we toured the shops of Broadway, Saragoga Springs, NY. It was fun, fun, fun but way too short a time. I had to depart by 3:30-4:00 to be back in time to feed my steeds.................I could have stayed and talked all night! I had a lovely ride home full of fond memories of my time with my sisters. Ladies and gent, we must find a way for more of us to have this meeting and connection! BJ, I am sure that Las Vegas is too far for some but we sure should try to all connect.............it's so much fun. Thank you DeeMarie and Raeanne for a very special day.

ARGGHHHHH - I just lost a very long personal post and lost it. I guess that is a good indication of how my day will go - gotta change that thinking quickly. Besh - glad your day went smoothly. That is the only thing I liked about school starting, was getting back on a schedule. You deal with so many different emotions - I am glad the family is getting it together to help FIL. Dee - FIL is in my thoughts and prayers! Joanne - John checked in recently through BJ, I don't think he renewed his membership here. Zig works long hours and travels a lot with her job, so doesn't post anymore. I told her about French Lick and she is hoping she can make it. Once it is set in stone I will contact her again. Lynn - we hope you are safe and hear from you soon. Tikanis - I wouldn't mind losing those 10 pounds, but not that way - hope you are healing quickly. Marci - I have been thinking of you and hope you don't have a lot of criers. Hope you and the kids had a smooth transition. Patti - glad that you and Dave are safe. My MIL is in W. Palm and lost her power, but still has her phone. How far are you from there? (I know I have asked before). BJ - what can I say sister - wish I was there to help you out. I could use a buddy for motivation right now. I have been so bad AGAIN. I have been in a funk this week. Partly that I get melancholy this time of year and partly that I want to do a lot of things around the house, that DH doesn't seem to think needs to be done. What gets me down, is that when I talk to DH about my ideas he is excited and agrees they are good, but then it quickly fades and I am let down. I know that in the grand scheme of things, this doesn't make a bit a difference and I should be grateful and appreciate all that I do have (because feeling like this makes me feel like a spoiled brat). So today that is what I am going to focus on, get my life back to a happy place and do something nice for someone less fortunate. How's that?

Maddie, In our MIcro biology class we were given 2 bacteria samples (taken from swabs of various places by upperclassmen) called "unknowns" and throughout the semester, though sampling, testing, hypothesis and analysis, we had to determine WHAT the bacteria were. What a picnic THAT was! I was ready to cry several times but managed to pass that grueling class.

Marci, I thought of you yesterday as the throngs of pre schoolers crossed the street in front of me, all holding hands. You have the patience of a saint!

I have more to say (Ha Ha!) but I must run. Payroll tomorrow! Hope to be back later today.

Hi everyone.

I have had a very busy week so far, but weighed this morning and was the same.

I'm not getting quite as much walking in and I do believe it shows. Also think I have some fluid retention. As long as I stay the same, it is better than gaining .

Dee - I hung up my hoe months ago - no time for games LOL. That will be awesome if you can make GF weekend, especially if Suzanne and Tikanis are in too! My little town will never be the same.

Since you girls may be coming to the Girlfriends weekend, tell me some of the things you would be interested in doing? I haven't scheduled anyone but my keynote speaker so far. I am definitely including yoga, kayaking, hiking, gardening and cooking. May offer chair massages and beauty tips. How about interior decorating? All around nutrition/health? Maybe a talk on social networking? - hey look at us! I'm interested in anyone else's ideas as well - you don't have to come to have good ideas. Don't worry Dee there will be no horses - sorry Suzanne LOL.

Jan - sounds like you had a great time.

Suzanne - it was great to see SP in all her glory. You did good.

I have company, which I sent out to sightsee without me LOL. I need to straighten up and regroup before they return - is it too early for a cocktail???

Hey Raeanne, how about "The Joys and Nutritional Advantages of Cocktails in the Morning"? or "Living your Life without Interactions with Large Animals"? LMBO!! (with apologies--again--to my animal-friendly sisters here). Seriously, I saw the agenda from this year, and I loved most of them. Topics that include reducing stress, meditation techniques, interior decorating, beauty tips (I can really use that!), everythig you mentioned is great!

I need to solve some problems for at least 3 coworkers now. BTW, I hope to win the mega-millions before next year and treat all of you to Raeanne's weekend.

Hi, ladies! It's me - back from the world of very little computer access!!!!!

I finally can access the internet on my little laptop, the first time in 3 months, so now I can play as much as I want. It was difficult using my friend's computer for very long at a time without being a nuisance, so it became just easier to not even try most days.

Looks like I've got a lot of reading and catching up to do. It's the perfect time to have a bad knee, I guess. Unfortunately, it's my artificial knee, and that's worrisome to me because all I did to start this problem was step carefully (I swear!) down off a curb Sunday afternoon, and ever since then, every time I turn around, I'm reinjuring it. Today, I've just stayed in bed with ice wraps until the man came to hook up my 'puter.

I've missed everyone. Looks like the divorce may happen next week now because my lawyer and I feel like almost-x's figures are as close to the truth as we can determine. I'll be glad to have that part of my life behind me. He's been more than unpleasant these last 3 months, and I can't handle any more stress.

Back in a day or so once I backread y'all's news!

Hi all-

I am thinking of Allie today, and remembering how sweet she was. She always had a kind word for everyone. I wonder how Zig is, too. I miss her popping in from time to time. I had the pleasure of meeting her and her family when we drove back from Canada. A lovely, wonderful lady.

Amy! How good to see you post! Miss you! Please come back more often.

Suzanne--what a great pic of you and SP. I'm so very glad to see that picture, and know that she is back to her self. The 2010 Alltech Equestrian Games are set to begin in Lexington, KY next weekend, and it should be something to see! I wish we could go together! I believe that it's the first time it's ever been held outside of Europe, and it's dressage events.

DH is working and I've been doing laundry and trying to pay bills (by grabbing $$ from different accounts). Some months you just can't win....

Donna, please put that weekend on your calendar so we can drive up together. I'm about 3-4 hours from Raeanne's party! Hope others decide to join in.
