Leslie Sansome, I am confused help me choose a tape!

I just found out about LS walking tapes. I want to order one, but there are so many to choose from and I don't know where to start. I hope someone out there can help me figure this out.

I am early 50's, moderately active and need to loose weight. Walking inside would be perfect for me until the weather warms up, then when it is too hot, I can come back inside.

Any help is very appreciated! Thank you!

Socks, I found out about the tapes here when I was reading last night. It was late so I don't remember if someone had a link posted or if I googled her. If you google her, you will see a clip of her on Live with R&K, they are doing a workout to her tape. Yes, it has music and you can walk in place in your own home, or take it outside and use it for a walk. She has several different tapes, and I just am not sure which one to get. I am going to get one though, I have to!

Is that a Kalco fixture? I looked at one in what I think it that same collection and loved it. The way it was hanging in the store reminded me of outdoor lanterns and I imagined camping and fireflies. Silly, I know, but talk about bringing the outdoors in! LOL It would be hanging in my breakfast room right now if it went with the kitchen fixture or I knew what to replace that one with. I suspect it may not be as large as your current fixture, but it has strong, simple lines and color, so I think it will still make a statement. The current one might be a bit too large for me anyway. I'd try to get measurements on that one if you can so you will have a better idea how it compares. If you want to hang it a little lower, you can probably order an extra down rod. I think it's worth pulling out the ladder and the measuring tape.

Thanks, D-ro, enduring, Francoise, and Herb. I am happy with this. I appreciate your comments. I forgot to mention that, as part of the decision process, I constructed fake "uppers" from cardboard boxes, and hung them on the walls. I also used tables and sawhorses to simulate countertops. I could then swap upper locations around easily, going back and forth between the layouts posted, say, on Wed, Sep 28, 11 at 19:40 and Thu, Sep 29, 11 at 13:38. This made it easy to sort out issues like possible crowding of the big window, the overall airiness of the kitchen, lights in the sink area, and the difficulty of reaching above the shoulders into the upper cabs with a laden soup bowl. Therefore, I am more confident in this arrangement than I was when only relying on Sketchup. Francoise, you are so right about how hard MW placement is. After this struggle, I have concluded that chest-high is the only really good placement; this either means in the middle of a tall cab (like CluelessinCo) or hanging below un upper (like someone posted recently... Dianalo? remodelFLA?). I didn't want to give up the pantry to do the former or effectively give up the counterspace to do the latter, so the drawer was the next-best alternative. Funny that I never really understood that about MWs before.

rhome, I have taped off and moved cabinets to try different plans, but never thought of closing off the toe kick! Thats a good idea. I didnÂt know how to explain the door and window trim. Maybe a better explanation is a window wall because the windows stop at the counter. I could use the French doors rather than the single door. It would make the opening larger to the porch. With the windows up and the door open, the porch would feel like part of the kitchen. Elyse, the ceiling is 10Â. I am leaning toward full-height cabinets on the refrigerator side. Would the beam running directly into the crown molding look OK? Wonder if the beam should be painted ceiling color or wrapped in cherry veneer. The beam in the picture is wood. I want this hood in a simpler style - not Arts and Crafts. My cabinets donÂt have the middle rail or the bracketed crown. Rather than the slats (which would be a chore to keep clean!) the spice box drawer fronts are repeated from my open shelves to the right. The bottom will be 24ÂÂ deep and the cabinet panels will be 16-18ÂÂ deep. My hood has punched tin rather than glass. The Crown Point example has narrow cabinet on each side of the hood, but separated from the hood by a few inches. I like the look. The KD wants the side cabinets wider (by 1/3 as she has it drawn). I think that destroys the effect of the hood and cabinets being, gosh I donÂt know the word, but it looks like an artistic grouping rather than just wall cabinets. I donÂt need the storage; I donÂt have any idea what is going in the cabinets so they donÂt need to be big. The punched tin doors on the cabinets on either side of the refrigerator pull out and slide into the sides of the cabinet. The cabinets are sized to allow for the door storage. I really want the pie safe effect. Rosie, I appreciate your thoughts! It helps. I am struggling with putting aside my vision, I donÂt want to! I have to work with this designer because she works for the custom cabinet maker. It is from her drawings that the shop builds the cabinets. She just needs to draw what I want. grrrrr! No money changes hands until we sign the contract to have the cabinets made. I am at the point that I want to sit next to her when she is drawing and say, ÂthatÂs not what I want! make it this way...Â I have lost so much time and it just feels like wasted time and effort when it takes so long and itÂs still not right. Take a look at this blog it's terrific and shows some great colors. I really like restoration hardware buttercream shown there and several others. I think these creamy lighter warms would make your cabinets look fantastic. hapyfrustrated..... I mentioned LS on another thread. I just got two of her dvds. I am 58 need to lose 50 lbs and not very active. I bought LS's " Walk at Home, Walk Away Your Waistline" at Barnes & Noble. It has a 3 mile walk with 1, 2 and 3 mile markers, so you can see how far you walk. The tempo of the music increases as you go along. Also it came with a walk belt you use for resistance. I like it, it is easy easy, and that is what I needed to get started. Since I have Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome I cannot start out gangbusters and hurt myself, or I will quit. BTDT. So I started with the one mile, then two etc.
My DD sent me LS Walk the Walk, it is a Christian-inspired workout for FIRMING, lovely music. I like to alternate the dvds for variety.
I also got a Richard Simmons Sweatin' to the Oldies (I know you didn't ask about it, but I like it),. It is fun to dance around to the oldies songs. Today, dh and I took the dogs for a 2 mile walk, so I will do LS dvd tomorrow. We are retired now, and I find that if I get up and do my 'walk' first thing, and get it over with, I don't worry about it. Good luck with what you decide on.

June, thank you!!! I am desperate for some type of in home dvd. Your remarks were right on target for me.

Good for you, Jenna. I find it's better if I do my exercises in the morning (Curves) before I have a chance to think of an excuse not to go.

Hi,
I just heard about Leslie Sansome also. Been using one of her DVD's for 3weeks now and LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!! Mine is called "walk away the pounds for abs" i bought it off of ebay with the waist belt with resistance bands that go around your waist. You can go to www.youtube.com type in leslie sansome walk away for abs and you should see some short clips of it to see if you like it or not. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. I also just ordered Debra Mazda's workout's she is very new. Look her up on youtube also to view her DVD clips.
