Does anyone have a non-salt, herbal sprinkle for popcorn that actually tastes good? I looked thru' Penzy's catalog and didn't see anything. My Aunt asked me if I knew of one and don't. How about you?

Brown sugar is good....as is cinnamon sugar.
Or tossing the kernals with melted sugar at the hard crack stage....
Or you could try garlic powder and dill weed....or oregano.
I like just plain butter....but that has salt in it...And garlic and parmesan cheese....but that also contains salt.

yeast from the health food store is very tasty...sorry, i cant remember the name...surely some one here will..just sprinkle it over the warm pop corn...bz

Annette - lol! I had no idea it had more than one meaning!! And TM, it said it was regional to Michigan!! To us it means dry, referrence how you might be in the morning if you had popcorn for dinner!! And I meant to say humidify the air!! I had a root canal yesterday, and when the freezing came out of my sinus, you'd have thought I had a head cold! With the wood stove, I kept an old teflon pot full of water simmering, and went through about 3 quarts every 12 hours or so. Yesterday I bought a cheap humidifier on sale, but now realize I need something to measure the humidity in the air, although my nose seems to work!! lol. Another localism I had not heard till I moved to the Ottawa Valley is 'eyeball heat'. This is from the old days, when the 'boys' all gathered at the General Store, and sat around the wood stove, trading lies. They would get that stove so hot, it was said to dry the corneas on you eyes - hence, eyeball heat!!! Nancy.

I'm going to be the voice of dissent here. As an ebay seller, I always add a handling charge to my shipping. You're not only paying for the shipping( 1lb package is 4.60 plus delivery conformation(.65 cents if you dont use paypal shipping), but you're also paying for packing supplies. I pack my items very well and I spend 30.00 on 2 rolls of bubble wrap. I also count the gas to drive to the post office and the bridge tolls I pay( I live in Ontario, but I ship from MI). Its not cheap to ship anymore!! Granted, I dont know how much their popcorn weights, but even if it was 1lb, 4.60 would be the minimum for shipping. Then you have the carton, the packing material, etc. PS: I have NOTHING to do with that company!!

I'd be careful about how many coats of paint you put on an acoustic,(popcorn), ceiling. Painting not only weakens it, but the extra weight can cause it to peel and fall in weaker areas.

I'd look at the Mrs Dash seasonings.
Salt Free, and lots of flavor options..

Although not salt free..I love Penzey's Sandwich Sprinkle..so if you could find something salt free with those "ingredients"..It would be a winner!

My third son (8yr old) has decided that he likes popcorn with garlic powder and fresh grated Parm..oh and of course real butter. LOL

That would be Nutritional Yeast, also called Brewers Yeast(but I don't think they are quite the same), and it's my favorite popcorn topping!

Ummm, any parmesan I've ever tasted has been pretty salty....

OK, I may be strange, but I like my popcorn popped in a hot air popper, and eaten fresh, hot, and naked.

My teenaged daughter loves it drenched in butter or even margarine, and generously dusted with a disgusting sprinkle called "All Dressed".
