You probably didn't charge near enough, but since you are just learning, it was a good way to start. Have been embroidering for a couple of years. For friends, I sometimes charge less, but my standard fee is around $1 per 1000 stitches. deb, saw your post, often people most hoping to get someone to sew something, usually not the case, LOL, may I suggest you look at the bullitin boards, at stores, or ask in a fabric shop by your home, it would be less expensive then mailing the article, paying someone to embrodiery it, then paying for postage back to you. the 2 way postage alone can run from $6-8. hope this helps you find someone to do this job. There's Aqua Mesh which is a water solible stabilizer for machine embroidery (works really well for lace work) and Aqua Film which is a topper for machine embroidery on towels and high nap fabric to prevent the stitches from sinking in. Mary

An update on this posting - less than 12 hrs after I emailed them, I had a response. They stated they will re-ship her order that was originally shipped 2 wks ago; they are sending an offer for a free pattern/shipping. I feel their apology was very sincere.
