Replacement ballast for LOA #8055
Comments (3)Hmmm, I didn't think to check the wiring. Good idea! Yes, when I put in new tubes, the problem persisted. I'd then assumed a bad ballast because we'd been having some pretty severe lightening storms and associated power ups and downs. (actually lost two tv's due to these surges) However, the lights had been off during those storms.... Thank you for the link. The ballast in this fixture is only 4 or so inches long and due to the housing design, a longer ballast wouldn't fit. (Already tried to switch it with one from another, non LOA fixture.) Since my post, I find LOA has put this fixture back on their list of products. An email to them for a local retailer only netted the suggestion that I contact one of their two distributors via online. Not very satisfactory. I'll check the wiring. And thank you for the suggestion!...See MoreSources for Shantung maple cultivars besides Fire Dragon?

Comments (8)Bosch ovens are quite reliable. I recently remodeled and installed the Bosch Benchmark side opening oven with a Sharp microwave drawer under the oven. I had to upgrade my electrical panel as current Code required that each major appliance be on its own heavy duty circuit and I went from a stove to wall oven, microwave drawer, hood, dishwasher and refrigerator. My remodel required a new electrical panel which was costly but not as expensive as it might have been. As The Cook's Kitchen posted, the actual cost would depend on the distance from the main source as well as difficulty in running new wiring. I live in a high rise and was lucky because I was relatively close to the "source". My next door neighbor was not that lucky since he was too far from the main source and so his new panel required a much more costly installation. My advice is that before you make such a limited choice, you get an electrician to determine what would need to be done and what it would cost. While no one is glad to spend money - especially on inside the walls kinds of things :-) - my kitchen electricity was really substandard and not up to Code as it had been installed in 1965. My old outlets weren't GFCI and I couldn't run the counter microwave at the same time as the toaster :-). I also gain peace of mind as God knows what the electrical connections for the old Caloric electric stove were :-)....See Morebedside lamp for reading
Comments (22)LOL! Well, separate bedrooms and a divorce are kind of extreme solutions, but thank you! I am half deaf so his snoring doesn't bother me. Gee, aren't I lucky, haha! I'll try a clip lamp, that should be better than clipping onto the book. Books are coming back in style! People are realizing that they don't "own" the books they buy at $13 a pop. I know chances are Amazon isn't going anywhere- but weirder things have happened. I've heard of peoples' accounts being frozen, deleted, etc etc. Heck, Russia could even hack it and delete it all. ;)...See Morewoodie
