Job interview questions
Comments (3)I would say "Yes. to the best of my ability, or I certainly will try".I wouldn't say, "Oh, yes! or I'll try, or some other "wishy washy" answer. A resonate "Yes" would tell me you are too eager, no or maybe, would not be good. Think positive and smile but don't over due it. Good luck. Of course, you will dress up a bit and don't appear in sneakers and blue jeans. You will shake hands if the interviewer extends their's first and of course say good morning or afternoon, and thank them for the interview when you leave....See MoreSpiders and Malt Balls Aside, Anyone For A Friendly Interview?
Comments (68)Our house rule is if you want something done a certain way then YOU do it. I've had to learn to let go of some things (like how to fold laundry) but it can be hard too :) Biggest phobia: Ground wasps, those buggers are vicious! Hairstyle and hair color in the 80's: Long and straight, it just won't curl...sigh. First car: A maroon 1971 Granada with one gold door andhood. It sat 7 comfortably though. Favorite saying: No worries! Best sports fantasy: Winning at anything, not likely though. If no one would know, what would you watch on cable all day: The nanny and the Golden Girls - except first we'd have to get cable. I think not having HGTV has helped making building decisions since I don't know about all the cool new stuff out there. Favorite comfort food: Mashed potatoes and gravy (which DH had ready and waiting last night after a very long day / week at work :) What your mom never found out: What I did incollege...shhhhh. Best hangover cure: A big glass of water and two advilbefore bed. I am most confident when: I know what I'm talking about. First job: Picking beans and tomatoes for a neighboring farmer. What my significant other appreciates in me: I'm easy going and calm, I laugh at his jokes, and I like his cooking (but I make better tea). What my significant other does not appreciate in me: Mornings. Choose one: MIL (or pick an annoying relative) stay with you for 1 month or camp 1 month in cheap tent. Tent. I love my MIL, but I like my privacy - I can only stand living with my DH because he is so dear. I can be anti social sometimes, it's why we live in the woods. Time you usually go to bed: That depends on the season. Spring and summer, it's 11, then 3, then 5 (critter feedings). Winter and fall 11:30ish. Perfect date would be: Lying in a hammock with a nice breeze to keep the bugs off and someone bringing us drinks. (All the while someone else is in the house cleaning it and doing laundry...) Household chore you hate the most: vacuuming, especially in the fall and spring when the live oaks shed their leaves. Where you were born: Great Lakes Naval Hospital. Your best friend once told you: Dinner's on the table come home! (he's a great cook too)...See More? for DS about dating
Comments (17)Thanks for all the responses so far! mariend, both boys do have part time paying jobs, as well as volunteer jobs. School and their jobs are going great, it seems their only complaints are to do with the reverse dating luck they're experiencing (DS attracts the girls who want to be free agents and BB attracts the ones who want a boyfriend). bestlawn, you cracked me up! I know DS hasn't slept with any of his dates because I asked him after BB left. We have a great relationship and I told him that it wouldn't be in his best interest to be having sex early on before he learns if they intend to be in a relationship with him. He laughed and said "Geez Mum, I know that, the only one I've ever been with was XGF (dated through highschool to 1st year college). He told me about the college 'fu@! buddy' trend, where kids hook up for sex only with no relationship. But he complained "how would they know the other person isn't hooking up with someone else as well?" So I know he wont' get sexually involved until he's been dating the same girl for some while and ascertained that it's a committed relationship. eliza ann, I hope I didn't give the wrong impression. DS is looking to be in a 'committed' relationship, not a 'permanent' relationship. He's definitely not trying to find his future wife, but he's been going out on dates for almost 2 years now, and just feels he's ready to have a girlfriend again. He mentioned it would be nice to bring the same girl with him to hang out with his friends, as opposed to introducing a new girl every week or so. adellabedealla, the boys undergraduate degrees will be in Business and Engineering, followed by Dental School and Architecture Apprentice. kickypants, of course without a video camera to observe his dates I can't promise DS is never sending out the 'Desperate' vibe ; ) But I truly don't think so as he gets girls asking him out all the time, so the girls he dates probably think he loves all that attention. DS told me something that did help me understand his feelings. He said, "Mum, please don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to compare girls to food, but I'm going to relate DATING to food. You know when you can't decide if you'd rather go out to the buffet place where there is an amazing variety of food, or you can go out to a little restaurant with a much more limited menu, but what they do serve is like a specialty? Well BB just got out of a 2 year relationship so he just wants to experience the buffet, for a while. But I've been going to the buffet for almost 2 years, and while I loved the variety, I'm just kind of looking forward to the small restaurant specialty place." DS never inferred that the girls he meets are loose morally or anything like that, just because they want to date a large variety of guys. He just said that BB and he are in opposite places right now and for some quirky reason the girls who want the 'buffet' seem to be attracted to him and the 'small restaurant' girls seem to go for BB. Oh well, I'm sure if they continue to date, they'll each make the right connection eventually!...See MoreJob Interview for DS ... he just left X your fingers!! lol
Comments (19)well, they have 3 more interviews this week with experienced trainers. They said he really "knows his stuff",and he was really good about motivating them to do more than they thought they could. She said he needs to be louder and a little more "personable". She said he needs to talk to the "trainee" about things other than the training session. He is a huge (6'6" 275 lbs muscle), bald head, and could be a little scary looking to some I guess, and he is very quiet! LOL and Shy. If he makes it past this interview, they will have one more practical interview next week. He should know by Monday. He's not a talker, schmoozer, (totally opposite of me! lol) so that will take a little work, but I know he can do it. Man, I hope he can get the next interview! His whole life, he has had a hard time making a lot of friends. He is like his Dad, after they speak with some one, I will ask them something like, "how is their job hunt going?" Or, "What happened to their daughter that was in the hospital?" and both of them will say, I didn't ask, if they wanted me to know they would have told me! LOL For years I've told them, no, that's not true. You need to ask questions for people to know that you are interested in them and their lives. DH went out duck hunting ALL season long, many years ago, with an old friend (that we hadn't seen or heard from in a year). Then 3 weeks later I spoke with his wife when she called to tell me she had her baby. uh, WHAT? I didn't even know she was pregnant. Neither did DH! lol OMG>.. I asked him what exactly did they talk about out there for hours, oh, hunting and fishing! sheesh! lol...See Morelynninnewmexico
