Cast iron again

I would like to start cooking in cast iron to improve my iron levels which are low. However, the all over cast iron WILL scratch my smooth surface cook top.

So, I've been looking at lodge's cast iron pans that have an enameled base while the cook surface is regular cast iron.

I haven't bought one, just looking...what do you think?

Normally, enameled cast iron is only used at lower temps.

Will seasoning the pan correctly mess up the enameled part?
