Sounds like Panera's Asian Sesame Chicken salad which I love.

"One cup of iceberg lettuce has 8 calories, 0.5 gram protein, 0.7 gram fiber, 10 mg calcium, 78 mg potassium, 1.5 mg vitamin C, 16 mcg folate, 13.3 mcg of vitamin K, 164 mcg beta carotene and 152 mcg of lutein + zeaxanthin.

"One cup of Romaine lettuce has 8 calories, 0.58 gram protein, 1.0 gram fiber, 16 mg calcium, 116 mg potassium, 11.3 mg vitamin C, 64 mcg folate, 48.2 mcg of vitamin K, 1637 mcg beta carotene and 1087 mcg of lutein + zeaxanthin. The Romaine lettuce is a better choice."

One leaf of Romaine lettuce will give you 10% of your daily vitamin A requirement, 2% of vitamin C, and negligible amounts of other things, but at least it has minimal calories! I think the salad sounds good the way they make it - I would not want fruit added to it, as I do not like fruit with chicken. I like fruit and meat served separately, but that is just my personal preference.

Caesar salad is kind of the same way. Just lettuce and lots of fattening things. :) I think the salad sounds good without the chicken!

I think I would enjoy it. I love my salads with all different combinations of ingredients. If you add too many of the same things all the time, it can become boring.

Hmmm, to me it sounds like "Asian Sesame Chicken Salad, served on Rommaine". I have never put veggies in my chix salad either except for a small amount of celery and an even smaller amount of onion - but not enough to count as a veggie serving. I do, most times, use fruit in chicken salad; grapes or cherries usually. Actually, it sounds good to me but I'd like something with it. Maybe a slice of bread?! (grin)

Rob, my longlost sister, I'm like you. I want lots of veggies and fruit in my salads. I find they are usually a pile of lettuce topped with meat (usually fried and breaded), cheese, fried croutons or some crunchy strips and a ton of dressing. I don't know why people think ording a salad is healthy, those darned things are loaded with fat, carbs and calories. I could eat a burger for less than that!

It does sound like Panera Bread, though. I do like Panera Bread, mostly because I can get a cup of soup and a chunk of bread plus an apple. Their desserts always look far better than they actually taste, though Bud and Makayla always want one and their bagels are so big that half of one is all I can eat for breakfast. I guess that's good I get at least two meals and a snack to share with Cooper out of a bagel.

I haven't been to one in at least a year, I'm only assuming they haven't changed...

All right, it is Panera. Yes, it's good tasting, and it is on lettuce, but not really a very good "salad". We have their food at staff meetings all the time, nothing has changed. Carbs! Pretty soon, no salads will be healthy. Cause who wants anything good for you on it! I took that route, to avoid the carbs and still got them. Oy! I did pick the fish (salmon) so it's a least a little better. I may as well ask them to have Maggiano's (Italian) next time!

Robb, you are lucky to see an advance copy of the menu. We never get that here. So even if they are suppling lunch, I still bring my own. If anyone asks, I just say special diet.

Up until this year, we got to pick the restaurant for our birthday, which is pretty good. Just a dozen or so in this one division, makes sense we could. I took them out for sushi and a couple were eating the bento boxes minus the rice and seaweed salad. Everybody has their own special thing, I guess! I'm happy for lunch, just wish we'd have wider choices or alternate restaurants. I'm probably outnumbered 1 to 11 ;) I usually have nothing, but it's getting old when everyone says, Aren't you going to eat?

Can you order it without the wontons? I order caesar salads without the croutons and only rarely have they accidentally included them. If no wontons, it's ok carb-wise, except for the dressing which has lots of sugar. Sounds good to me.

Take your own packed lunch if you don't like what they're offering free.

I'm not a salad person, so this is always tough for me. I like Caesar, easy on the dressing. I like "Cobb-ish" salads...and I say "ish" because I ask them to leave out some things and add extra other things, so it's "Cobb according to me."

One of my daughters loves this Panera salad. Me...I don't care what they say about the nutritional value (I'll try to get nutrition elsewhere, haha), if I want a salad, I want crunchy iceberg, very cold, and minimal stuff added and no dressing! 'Cuz that's how I want it! But when I can't control what the "salad" is, I just pick through and eat what I want and leave the rest! If the carbs came and I didn't want them, I probably wouldn't be able to control myself and I'd eat the wontons, croutons or whatever-tons! :) I am weak that way.
