I do! I do! I have a 27" MW/convection (without the oven underneath). I can tell you the good and the bad about it. Mainly I bought it because it matched my KA slide-in range and DH would not let me get another conventional oven. To me, it is a really expensive toaster oven. Here's the bad: - the microwave is underpowered. 900W is less than my old OTR microwave. You will notice it's lack of power when you go to pop popcorn - it is extremely hard to clean the faux stainless steel interior. The ceiling of mw has gunk on it that I just can't get off. - one of my pet peeves - no button to turn the turntable off (maybe they've changed this since I bought mine). To put a 9x13 pan in there you have to physically dismantle the turntable to the pan will bang into the sides of the oven. The good: - it pre-heats really fast (much faster than a conventional oven). - comes in handy for baking frozen snacks for the kids (I would never cook any kind of meat in there though, because it is too hard to clean the interior walls. I have had a few service issues with it in the five years: The interior light burned out. Requires a service call to fix it! Costly light bulb replacement. The rod in the door hinge has busted two times. You know when this happens because you hear "snap" when the pull the door down and there is no longer any tension in the door. I don't have the KitchenAid, but I have a GE Monogram Advantium installed over a Miele single oven. The Advantium is a convection/microwave/speedcook oven. We most often use it as a microwave, next as a speedcooker, which I LOVE, next to proof bread dough, and so far never as convection. It can also act as a warming oven, but I have a warming drawer near my rangetop, so I've never used the Advantium for warming yet. The Miele is the oven I use for convection baking and roasting. This oven does vent some heat, but the only time I've ever noticed it getting warmer is when I used the Self Clean feature. That said, I have a large kitchen and a vaulted ceiling, as well as central air, so not sure if my conditions compare to yours. However, I think your issue is the stacking of the two, not whether to have them operating in your kitchen, right? I don't stand near my stack for long periods while they are cooking, but to use the Advantium while the lower oven is on is not noticably uncomfortable in the least. I'll second joeb's opinion. Weren't too sure of Therm ME at first, but when compared with everything else on the market - it came in with the best overall deal as far as cubic size, bells & whistles, pre-heat, and full backing of app. store (in writing), so we went for it. There have been some concerns, but believe a lot of issues have been resolved. Got an xtended warr just in case. Considered KA - really liked the looks, but frankly, repair issues & customer service have been really iffy for quite some time, so we opted for Therm instead.
