Well, I make a WeeWilly Warmer - I take a glove and cut off the fingers to make the warmer. I sew on a small bell on the end of the finger and two 36" pieces of cold cord attached to each side of the top of the finger... The poem I attach to the box is Wee Willy Warmer When you are getting older, and the nights are getting colder... Nothing could be sweeter, than this cute wee peter heater!

Ummm... I guess things like diamonds and rubies are out? So... small, easy to send... and possibly worthwhile? Individually wrapped candies or gum could cover several different days. Seeds/seed packets if she is a gardener. Tea bags come in boxes of various numbers of teabags. For silly items you could go see the kids party favor items. Other "toys" could work, including bouncy balls. Some of those sample sized perfumes. A set of nail polish? They come in all different size packs, too. Set of memo pads. Colored pencils. Is she a crafter? Craft items are always cool... and many can be made to fit numbers... like beads, thread, paints, etc. Oooo - silk flower stems... they have "numbers" of flowers Box of notecards Marbles - either silly ones or the ones you use in vases. (They could be for replacing the ones she is losing since reaching the big 50) New kitchen washcloths. Disposable camera with "number" of shots Candy... preferably chocolate (I know I already said that - but well... it's chocolate!) There really are so many! Diane - also a 1957 baby : )

Thanks for all of the compliments and good wishes! I owe a lot to GW, so I wanted to show what can be done by "seeing" the layout function first. Also I used the new SW alkyd cabinet and trim paint. It is soap and water clean up when wet, but scrubbable after it cures. It levels very nicely. We used it on kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets, and whole house doors and trim. (painters sprayed it on the areas they did. I laid on with a brush and laid off with a foam roller on the projects I did.) Tinker, the original back splash was very basic 4 x 4 "bathroom" style tiles in the same antique white as the formica. So they are kind of hard to see in the before pictures. The installer had to remove the old counters and lay down a new plywood base for the install on the counters. He removed the wall tile and I believe he only had to patch drywall in a few spots. There were also some drywall patches behind the stove area, as the 220 outlet had been removed by the electrician, and in the wall area where the original cabinet had been. It took the tile guy and plumber a week. He was a true pro and knew that the drywall patches needed to dry, that the tile needed to be set up before grouting etc. He was very proud of his cutouts by the electrical outlets, and we showed him the tiles we had to work with and asked for his input on the details. He came up with the diamond behind the stove. We like that because that tile, and the half round liner bar were leftover tile from our previous kitchen, so that made it feel like home. So the backsplash is the same porcelain as the counters in the main field, with the sesame colored liner bars, and the black running bond horizontal tiles.

Plllog, there are no holes in the bottoms of those carriers, the cupcakes sit high enough that you can just grab the top of the cupcake itself and lift it out. The rest of the carrier is a deep plastic bowl with a post in the middle and those carriers fit down over the dowel, three layers deep. The top snaps on and there is a handle, so you can carry 2 dozen cupcakes, stacked 3 deep, without crushing any. It's very handy, and I bought it on clearance last year after Christmas. arkansas girl, my daughter tells me that Madison had some friends over the next day to play and although the cake was all gone, they ate cupcakes, so they did get eaten, they were just second choice for the kids. Too much candy for me, I didn't eat either one, but I just thought it was odd that I was specifically told that people did not eat chocolate and then that's what they ate! Annie
