We watch TV on my laptop, which has a nice big screen, and I have good speakers attached to the laptop, so it has very good sound. We also watch TV on my desktop computer sometimes, which also has a good-sized screen. You can connect to the TV and watch it on the TV screen, but I've found it isn't necessary, at least for us, to do it that way...we just watch it on the laptop or on the desktop. The networks have TV episodes posted on their websites, and there are a lot of sites like hulu.com where you can watch TV on your computer. We watch House, Fringe, 24, The Office, Parks & Recreation, Better Off Ted, V, the evening news and local news, PBS shows, shows from the History Channel, etc. Lots of TV shows are available to watch online.

I have/had one. Well, it's still there, but I haven't posted on it in about a year and a half. Too many other life challenges/changes kind of took over and I didn't have time or the energy for it anymore. I'll post the link in case anyone wants to take a peek. I still love looking at some blogs, though. Between Naps on the Porch is one of my favorites. Also, I like Designs By Gollum. That's Michael Lee West, the author, and she used to post here as Hollygolightly. Another good one is Southern Hospitality. That lovely lady posted here as Georgiagal, I believe. Oh, and by the way, the house in my header is NOT my house. I so wish it was! All the other interior shots and backyard/back porch shots are of my actual house, though. Years ago, someone posted the picture of the house I used in my header, and I saved it as a "someday" dream house. I believe Flyingflower posted the pic originally. I remember Doodlebugs, but I never knew they could fly. As kids we just liked to see them roll themselves up into a little ball if we tickled them with a straw or piece of grass. The little chant that was mentioned, we used that for the lady bugs: "Ladybug, lady bug, fly away home. Your house is on fire and your children will burn!" How did we ever manage to have so much fun without all those electronic toys kids have now? Sue

Travertine is almost always pink. Even when you think it's not, it is. Take a sheet of white printer paper and look at it in white light. Even the darker brown toned walnut travertine or the gold stuff will have reddish undertones. I really didn't want to use travertine here, but it's so popular in our market that I kinda had to. We rdered 30% extra and culled the obvious pink ones. What's left is the more neutral ivory ones. Even those, when viewed in white light, will have pink undertones. It only works because of the red undertones in the cherry cabinets. With white cabinets, the pink would be a lot more obvious.
