Good to hear that you had an enjoyable dinner with friends, Sue. Only half of the greatness of a dinner is the food - the other half is the folks with whome one shares it. (For those of us who live alone ... the only way that one can "share" it is to put a big mirror on the top of the table ... on the other side of the food [but the conversation can only be referred to as talking to one's self]). (Were one to "eat for two" in such a circumstance ... the food wouldn't "go to waste" - but would "go to waist", I reckon). Good wishes and hopes for a great year upcoming, Sue. ole joyful

Thank you so much everyone for the nice birthday wishes. My day was a busy day. The forenoon spent on making a lot of phone calls to doctor's offices and then made lunch of potato soup. Cheryl, Amber and Alyssa came and we ate and then we started cleaning the living room and moving things out and about and dusting well. We were making room for a small round dining room table to move into there which did get moved in last night. In the late after noon, Terri, Mandy and little Alex came with a very nice birthday supper from Bob Evan's. Pot roast meal, chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, mac and cheese, rolls, banana bread, and they brought a birthday cake. Son Randy also came and ate with us. Our son in law Kevin had to work over so he came much later. It was a very different birthday eating in the living room so Norm could eat with us. Oh, by the way, I am now 80 years old. Thanks again, one and all, for the good wishes!

Ya know, a while back, I decided not to jump on all the feel-good bandwagons on this forum--NOT because I didn't feel the same happy or concerned thoughts as everyone else, but just because a) I had too much else to do, b) I'm usually tongue-tied when it comes to "saying the right thing," and c) I'm just not a bandwagon-jumper-onner. But, darn it, all the sweet wishes, pretty flowers, and sparkly balloons make me feel GOOD! :-) So I've resolved to turn over a new leaf and help others feel good as well. I'll probably keep it very simple--no graphics, just good wishes--but I'll try to join in from now on. To all of you I've missed in the past year, a belated Happy Birthday and best wishes for a great year!

And Annie, my son dropped in for my birthday dinner; it was a last-minute surprise, so I hadn't baked a cake. But DS and DH had ice cream, and I enjoyed half of a cinnamon-raisin bagel. So it was all good!
