Off the wall question . . .

Has anyone installed a Miele Chef Speed Oven over a 30" convection oven of a different brand? I'm really interested in their speed oven since it has the cooking features and capacity and not a bad price tag. It's the full size oven that is more money than I can reasonably spend based on our cooking habits, especially since I foresee using the Speed Oven as our primary oven. Does anyone know of any other brand that might present okay installed directly underneath the speed oven?

Not sure about what you're asking exactly in your question, but here is a review of the Miele speed oven that I did recently. I also own one in my home and use it more than my regular oven. It is really good.

Just did this for my sister, what exactly are your concerns?

Just about any oven can be placed underneath, you only need to be mindful of clearances ( usually an inchor two) needed for both ovens. You don't want hot air exhausted from one to be sucked into the other.

Her's is a GE Monogram under the Miele, the stainless is a petty good match too, though I have heard that GE has gone to a diff. supplier or spec so there new SS doesn't match the stuff off a year or two ago. Have no idea how the new looks with the the Miele either.

Well, I am supposing that you know that you need a LOT of plant material to make one drop of EO... I would distill something else first so you know what you are doing. You might get a book on distilling... not everything smells the same distilled as it does on the plant. I can't stress enough how much plant material it would take to make a half an oz of eo. I am thinking that you might get a couple drops of eo from about 5 gallons of lavender leaves...

At $25 that one on E-bay is a little pricey. Kimbrew Walter Roses has a 2-1/2" Plastic Lapel Vase with Metal Pin for 25 cents, less if purchased in quantity. Hi dlm2000! No, not gone beyond on getting the property ready *grin*. As a smoker I know how offensive to non-smokers the odor of stale tobacco can be. It is even offensive to me when a house hasn't been aired properly. In a tight resale market & competing new build, we want to present the house as a "gotta have it". Seems as if smelling clean and of fresh-baked cookies is highly sought after in this area market. "Functional" isn't sexy...most average buyers could give a fig about a new roof w/ solar venting, plumbing, HVAC humidifier, programmable thermo, water heater, low-E double hung windows & French doors. Area average buyers are concerned about third & fourth-hand smoke though. And fresh-baked cookies ;-) Now we can't list "pet free" BUT the house won't smell like a dog kennel or cat house either. Nor fresh-baked cookies. I'm going whole hog and baking cherry pies. A nod to George Washington living up the street...

A bit off topic remodel question

In my previous home we took out the door to the basement and removed most of one side wall. We used a railing where the wall had been. So instead of having a open stairway going up, we had one going down. We installed a door at the bottom of the stairs. We had finished off the basement but wanted to be able to close a door to keep the noise level down if the kids and their friends were playing loudly or watching tv down there. We loved how removing the door and wall opened up our space. I will see if I can find a picture and post it later

Thanks for your input. I'm really asking if there are any brands that will match the Miele speed oven aesthetically. The full size Miele oven is out of the question for us based on price and I was wondering in terms of stainless finish and handle if there was anything out there that would match the speed oven. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find the oven in enough show rooms to really compare with lower budget convection ovens.
