For some reason my dog seems to love PI. He ALWAYS chooses a patch of PI as a rest room. My wife always worries about getting it from the dog, but I never pay any attention and although I am extremely sensitive, and pet the dog without thinking, I have never got it that way. My mother could pull it out barehanded and not be affected. Round Up works by killing the roots of the plant. Naturally, if you have an extremely large plant it will take more to kill it. However, it DOES NOT take a heavier concentration. In fact, a heavier concentration on many plants may burn the top and NOT kill the roots. Use it as the label indicates. A lot of problems can be avoided by reading the instructions. :-) JMO, Tom

I also posted these ideas on your C&D thread. You will be able to get some of it off by ironing it onto a small stack of paper towels. Sometimes freezing it with ice will allow you to peel it off. If a sticky residue is left, use Goo Gone, a commercial product available in sewing stores and drugstores.

I'll do some more research to find out what E6000 is and where to get it. rmtonelzey and grandma_bonnie: I think that my glue gun might be low-temp. My sister bought it for me and I remember how she hated getting burned with her hot one. :) So it probably wouldn't hold as well as real hot glue anyway. If I were only gluing small metal pieces the glue gun would probably work fine, but some of this metal is quite heavy so I think I will need something stronger after hearing what you all have to say. I haven't ruled out using wire in conjunction with the glue gun either. lol! Thanks again, everyone!

Hopefully you'll remember this event as a lesson in what not to do. Manure should never be used in the garden until it has been completely composted. At that point it is no longer manure and is called compost or composted manure. There is a lot to learn about compost, but not on this forum. If you want to speed up the breakdown of the manure (i.e. the stench) get some molasses at your local feed store or garden nursery and spray it at a rate of 3 ounces per 1,000 square feet. The sugar in the molasses will encourage the soil bacteria to populate and decompose the manure much faster. It can go on for weeks (and weeks) if you don't do anything. By the way it is very easy to smother bermuda with compost or manure. I've seen it set back an entire growing season with compost. Bermuda seed likes hot soil. Even in Phoenix it is not quite ready to seed. I say this to lower your expectations for the seed you put down. Had you waited until mid May I would expect it to germinate to 80% by early June. But if you put it down in April, I would still expect to not get 80% until early June. That's just the way bermuda seed works. You did a lot of extra things that will negatively affect your end product. If you end up reseeding, please ask here first before you do ANYTHING.
