Sweet chicken wing recipe?

Hi everyone,

I have been lurking for a while and now I'll just jump in and ask my question:

Today I fried some chicken wings that I had shaken with cornstarch and a bit of salt and cayenne, and then coated in them in a sweet/spicy sauce. The recipe was from Cooks Illustrated. I was somewhat disappointed at the results-the soy sauce flavor was too strong.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone could lend their foolproof chicken wing recipe, preferably one that is also sweet and savory. Is it preferable to roll them in flour or a flour/cornstarch mixture? To finish off the cooking by baking them after partially frying them?
