I have had tomatoes, basil etc for many years. The year before last, we took out a grassy area in the "courtyard", rented a tiller, bought lots of topsoil and compost and put in a garden. Everyone laughed, as I drew up a "to scale" drawing and layed out the garden in anticipation of the spring planting. When I planted last year, I probably changed things 5 times. Again, this winter, I layed out a "to scale" drawing, and again, I changed things 5 times. It's coming along. The herbs are starting to look like an English cottage garden. The vegetables are at home. It is a happy place. Will it ever be finished? No way!!

I did get a Samsung because of it's vibration control feature. I'm not on a second floor but was so afraid about problems with durability that I read about with essentially all other brands that I also installed a second subfloor of 3/4 inch thick plywood over my existing floor. I then used hardyboard with thinset under it and under the new tile I installed. That has been totally sucessful to date. My washer is about 2 years old now. I do have a lot of quibbles about Samsungs design in other ways. Sometimes get pretty frustrated with the instructions and their computr controlled energy saver water rationing expecially.

Jumpilotmdm- I will take your advice about not expecting miracles. (Two years into this house, I should probably give up on them.) Our shutters are also on the list... I guess I will count myself fortunate to not have a fence! Greywings- yes, ouch! That orange baffled me. (Although it made for an easy marker when giving people directions to the house.) They used the same orange on the ceiling of their youngest child's room... which, in my opinion? Did NOT complement the bright-salmon on the walls.

thanks, doggonegardener. we're still deciding, but duro design cork requires level to 1/8" over 10 feet. i just got done reading on the johnbridge website. it sounds like it takes about 4-5 bags of SLC just to do a 10'x9' room! there was a thread where they walked someone through doing this. i'm not so sure about doing this now! doggonegardener... can you tell me about how you did your subfloor? anyone else have any suggestions?
