Java update

After installing Java update 11 RegCleaner showed 3 new enties> Yahoo partner Toolbar, Fire Fox and Sidney Chong Co. In find files and folders they don't come up. I got a option box to uncheck the MSN toolbar nothing about the others. What should I do? Ticked.

Where did you download java from?

In the link are instructions for removing YahooTool Bar

Fire Fox and Sidney Chong Co, I am not clear what this is yet.

On another note make sure you remove any older versions of Java through the add/ remove programs list.

My Java icon in the control panel and check update.

Mozilla/firefox, Sidney Chong co and Yahoo partner toolbar came bundle with the Java 11 update. No options for me to opt out. Regcleaner showed them as new items. They are not in add/remove and searching files and folder does not being them up. No toolbar to click on to uninstall.

Yes, I removed the old version of Java.

My system is 64-bit as stated in my OP. I went to the link that exgm post and this was on the site: If you are using: * 32-bit Internet Explorer (IE), you need to download 32-bit Java (Verify browser) * 64-bit IE, you need to download 64-bit Java (Verify browser) Verify if you are using 32-bit or 64-bit IE browser. Follow these steps to verify whether you are using 32-bit or 64-bit browser. Launch Internet Explorer browser. Click on the Help tab at the top. Select About Internet Explorer which will bring up an information window. If version of IE displays 64-bit Edition, then it is 64-bit IE, otherwise it is 32-bit browser. The older Update for Java states that it is for 64-bit but the update 17 doesn't. I will just remove the Update 14. Thanks everyone... Jean

I am having problems with FF and found this thread - I am completely out of the news loop so had heard nothing about Java problems so...hope you can help. I have a mac running 10.6.8. In the middle of watching netflix last night I got an error message saying that Java plug in was disabled and to enable it and restart FF. I checked everything and it was enabled, I disabled my ghostery, etc. Nothing made a difference. Today I tried an update to java and downloaded that (found by check for updates on my mac menu). still didn't fix it. So I found this thread and decided I would uninstall the whole thing. I found directions on FF about how to uninststall Java. But when I seach my mac for JavaAppletPlugin.plugin I get nothing, nowhere. If I just search for Java, I get dozens of hits, but none of them for the applet plugin. I went back and disabled it, but am wondering what to do now. How can I uninstall it if I can't find it? I did the update to Java-11 last night too from the tray near the clock. Refused the MSN toolbar and don't see anything like that. How did you know they were on your machine? Should I be looking for them?

Breenthumb, Didn't know till I ran RegCleaner. I have 4.3 it was very popular at this forum years ago.

Also Java Quickstarter came along with the update winpatol disabled it.

I installed Java 6 version 11 and had no problems. The link below for those who are unsure which version they have is a safe link to the Java site, not a third party site.

Sadly these day we need to check every page before clicking 'Next' or 'Install' as so many program now piggyback other things to earn income. Yahoo seems determined to get back near the top of the heap in popularity and seem to use this method a lot.

I installed mine through Secunia PSI and see no evidence of any other add-ons.
