Thanks! I've started converting all images over to PNG now...I had been using JPG format up until two weeks ago and then realized PNG was the way to go. I re-did one of my math websites last week (yeah, I have more than just butterfly sites!). Trying to 'do' all of these things AND teach AND have a life is a bit tough. I started yoga and that is helping. Of course, it is a bit stressful trying to get my buns out of school in time to get to yoga (is that an oxymoronic thing to type or what?! but hey, we obsessive compulsive, hyper-active Typa A anal retentive types just can't help ourselves... ;P CalSherry

Wow! I guess number 3 was the real stumper. Andrea - Thank you! You *are* good. I'll look those up, and sharpen my label pencil! Goldedger - Thanks for the compliment on the pictures. If you only knew how many I've taken just to get a few clear ones! ;-) I do find that having a close-up of the leaf helps. Alexa - Thanks for thinking of Wide Brim! I looked that one up, but the description in the Encyc. of H. says the leaves are "dark green with a blue cast." The heart shape and width of margins fits, but the light green color in my picture is pretty accurate. In person the plant almost glows--more of a chartreuse than green. Char and Ctopher - I wondered the same thing, Char, so I did a search for those Undulatas and saw that Hallson lists three names for the same plant: "Hosta 'Undulata Univittata' - (Bailey 1930) aka Hosta 'Undulata Mediopicta' and Hosta 'Undulata Variegata'". Trudi, I had a few minutes & wanted to come check it all out. I love your ideas. Within the next few days, I will try to find some of my old lesson plans & experiments regarding seed growth, so if you're interested, you may be able to adapt them to what you want for this forum. I had an idea while reading your avacado tree instructions (which I desperately want to grow, now). What do you think about putting a "supplies list" at the top of all your FAQ sheets regarding specific experiments (like winter sowing seeds or avacado tree)? Ask any teacher or cook, & they will tell you it's very helpful to have a supply list before beginning. Just a thought.

If the ribbons mean a lot to you or your daughter then you should do a nice display. But don't feel a sense of guilt if you'd rather put them in a box and store them away. They aren't part of your personal history with the dog, they are someone else's memories. The dog doesn't care about them :) We occasionally discuss on here people's guilt and feelings of responsibility about hand me downs that they feel no connection with. To me, the ribbons may fall into the same category.
