Looking for white gas range with black grates

I'm looking for a 30" gas range that is:

- White with BLACK burners and grates

- Self-cleaning

- Free-standing (not slide-in)

- Under $800 or so

I like white ranges with black grates because they're so easy to clean. I'm trying to avoid the shiny gray porcelain that discolors so easily with use.

From my research I think my only options are:

- The Amana 30" range (AGR5712BDW).

- Possibly the similar Maytag model (MGR5751BDW), though I'm not positive it has black grates.

- Or just live with gray grates, or a stainless range.

Does anyone know of other options? Or have advice on these two models?

I am looking into white also. I am one of the few "don't like stainless" people.

Consumer Reports did a nice "Kitchens for Less" feature in August. The repair history for gas ranges noted Hotpoint, GE, Frigidaire, Kenmore and Whirpool as the top five with fewest repairs. Maytag then Amana fall into line after the others. I don't base my purchases on that alone, but it helps to get a perspective. I have a GE that's about 5 years old and haven't had any problems. I am looking at a new one because I remodeled and like the white on white. Mine is white with black.

I keep coming back to a GE. The continuous grates, sealed burners and self clean for under 800 keeps calling me. The one right around 800 has a quick boil burner and that sounds very cool. Here's the two. Sometimes grates look black, sometimes gray, so I'm not sure.

I have a Whirlpool Super Capacity 465, Accubake System, Gas stove. My stove top looked terrible and I tried many different things to try to clean it including, baking soda, Bar Keepers Friend, etc. One day I decided to try Easy Off oven cleaner! It was amazing!!! It cleans the grates also. My grates are coated and the top of the stove is porcelain. Spray it on and let it sit for a few hours. Then wipe off with paper towels. I had to reapply and let it sit a again or over-night. When you get down to those left over black flecks I used a butter knife to carefully scrape. A dobie may work also. I didn't try to get it back to brand new looking the first time. But after a few different times I cannot believe how beautiful it is again! To keep the cleaner from getting into the holes where the gas comes out lift the flat round piece off each burner and roll some paper towel up and set it in the burner area and replace the flat round piece on top to hold the paper towel in place. Then I sprayed the whole stove top, replaced the grates and sprayed them. Let sit for hours. I wish I had discovered this years ago. It works like a charm and you don't have to scrub forever! No replies because your statements are all over the place. Do you already have a gas range and are just upgrading or are you converting from electric. If you are converting, you should address your venting to see if it is adequate. IMO, you should then throw out your budget of $1000. IMO, you should throw it out anyways. Your chicken nugget comment shows your looking at items in the Frigidaire price range and this clearly contradicts your "enthusiast" statement. Learn to cook with a wok. There is not enough room to discuss how on this forum. When you do, you will realize you need significantly more BTU's than $1000 will give you. You will also discover that the 5th burner is not as common as big box store shopping implies. Go to an locally owned store instead, toss out all the specs you read on the internet and inquire with a salesman that will help you narrow down what is important to you.
