e-mailing pictures

Hi, I have e-mailed my Mom some pictures using the e-mail option in the Photo Gallery. I get a message asking me about the size, I always opt for the medium version. My Mom has the same computer exactly, same OS (Vista) and I didn't realize the pics have been a problem in the past. She was trying to print them off and she says that they are huge. Any suggestions for her?

There are several free image viewers available that will re-size an image for emailing or printing. The one listed below is just my personal favorite. It's better to learn how to use the image viewer of your choice and not to rely on the tools provided by Microsoft.

My pictures of bacterial spot-confirm?

I hate when I start a thread and then don't stay active in it. I have taken a few more pics. You can very clearly see the yellowing and the spots did not start out as wet which is suggested for bacterial spot. I am also quite aware what happens in the garden and there would be no reason for it to be chemical/mechanical damage. So I guess it would be viral. It almost seemed to ease up for a few days. The plants started to resprout from the dropped leaf sites. I was hopeful. Then the spots started again. Which has led to this: I've already pulled the Banana and now this Bell is going. It can't do anything even if it did recover. Finally I found these holes/spots on the Bell's stem but not sure if they were cause or responsive feeding from a plant in distress. That one's a little blurry. I guess I had better read up on some of the viruses to make sure I am ready for next year.

owbist or iowagirl...I need more help.. Something is not working right. I can set up my e-mail with sound and a picture or two inserted. I send to DD or DS and they do not get music with the picture. I can go back into my e-mail Sent, pull it up and there is music and pic, just the way I want it to go thru. They are not getting the music. They are both on DSL. The other night I set an e-mail up from DD's computer, with picture and music, sent it to our home e-mail address, all I got was pic, no music. After sending I went into her Sent e-mails, pull the e-mail up and I had pic and music. Why is the music not going thru? My e-mails were being sent Outlook Express thru our Verizon address. Thru Verizon we also have MSN Premium, with an MSN address. On MSN Premium I cannot set an e-mail up with pic and music as there is no toolbar with Format or Insert it offers just only an Attachment icon. I can send the music and pic as attachments, which both have to be clicked onto to see and hear. That is not the way I want them to go. I am sure there is something I am missing to do...Been trying for 3 days now. I will appreciate any suggestions and advice. I do remember dial up connections and do not send to them, it has been not that long ago I had dial up too. Thank You!!

Thanks, I've e-mailed her a few questions to find out more about the problem; I don't know what program she uses.

Here is what will result in the best quality pictures of the right size:

Email your mother the full-size picture file without fiddling with it. Then your mother should save the file to her computer, snd open it up in whatever photo manipulation software she has. After she makes any adjustments she wants, she can pick the exact size and print from there.

When you change the picture file on your end, you reduce the quality of the picture, and it sounds like she is just opening up whatever you send her and trying to print it directly. That's the worst of all worlds...

very true if you change it then you are degrading the quality of the actual picture, if she wants the high quality to print you need to send full size and she needs to use that image.
However those images will be a large size file so will take much longer to go in email and will be large in her inbox, if any of you use dial up it will be slow doing it that way.

I use one of the power toys by Microsoft that will allow you to just right click on any picture you have on your pc and select resize from the list and there it gives you choices as to the size, it then creates a new copy of your picture in that size. There is a version for Vista.
