Trouble .....Error Message

I just purchased some Avery Labels. With the Avery company, you can download an Avery Wizard that helps you print labels in Microsoft Word. The download went fine. However when I try to launch the Wizard, I get the following message: "Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded".

I Googled this error message and found there are quite a few sites that address this problem. However, none of the suggestions worked for me. I tried going to Tools, Internet Options, Security Tab....custom level.....and made a few changes, but none of those attempts solved the problem.

I am using Windows XP and Internet Explorer. I have MS Office....and I am using Word.

Does anyone know what I should do to my security settings to allow me to use this Wizard? Does anyone have suggestions on using labels that would not require the Avery Wizard?

Any help that you might give will certainly be appreciated.

The fastest fix might be to download another browser, like Firefox, and access the file that way.

Been a while for me with IE. Do you have an appearing line appearing under your Toolbar reporting that IE had blocked the download? If so, clicking on the bar could offer you options to allow to download. Or, there might be an "options" offering on the bar itself.

Hi This was happening to me too. At the suggestion of a friend, I downloaded Mozilla Firefox (a free internet navigation program.) All problems have since stopped. Which version of works is it? Looks like a later version, 4 maybe? One of my machines has version 2.0a, which sometimes runs into his issue with larger files. I can often get around it by one of the following: -making a minor mod and using Save As, then naming it something else and printing that. -examining the file location folder for temporary Works files and deleting them.

Thanks for getting back, actually it was a slow response. I'm having trouble understanding what when I click on it I don't know what it is. Are you talking about this at rarefind nursery or clicking the PDF file inside the 'my received folder' which will look like this which is a 1.72mb pdf file download from the rarefind nursery website. If it is the later where you get the error, then it would be a problem with the adobe reader and you could try Foxit Reader 2.0 for Windows to open the file. I just don't know what installation cannot be finished means because there is nothing to install, just download and open.

The right side does not have a filter. It is the radiator to remove excess heat. we usually have to clean it about every 750-1000 hours. You will know when it is time because the dryer will say “clean plinth filter” but it will be clean. The cover on the right side is a little trickier to get off. There is a hidden clip on the left side of this door that you need to push with Small screwdriver Or knife. It will then pop off and you will see the small radiator. usually loaded with lint or dust. We vacuum it off using the dusting attachment on the vacuum. Then reinstall the door. If the door is dirty wash it off in the tub or a large sink and dry using a towel to get it looking new before reinstall. Miele should have made this cover easier to open/remove. It is not obvious until you do it once to know where the tabs are that need to be pushed to remove the cover. I would suggest not blowing it off. Vacuum would be a better choice.

Microsoft Office includes most Avery label types and sizes in it's page set up. Anyone helping needs to know which version of Office you are running. There should be no need for the wizard.

Try clicking Tools, then Internet Options in IE. Click the security tab, then make sure you have selected Internet Zone. Click Custom Level and scroll nearly halfway down. Find the Download section, Automatic Prompting for File downloads and place a dot next to 'Enable' and another 'Enable' dot next to File Download.

I thank you all for the suggestions. I have tried all of your suggestions. I still get the same error message. I went to the Avery website.....and I noticed a link to live chat. Without any waiting I was connected to someone who I explained my problem. He left momentarily....then returned....telling me the solution was a multi-step procedure that would be better solved by calling a toll free number. When I get the solution, I will return here...and relate what they told me. I hope it works. Thanks again for your help.

As said you don't need to download anything from the avery stie as word has all the templates built right in for labels, I use it all time for address labels and it works great. Just navigate to letters and mailings in word and click labels and type in the number that is on front of the pack of labels to get the correct size template. Mary

What are you trying to do with the labels? What do you think the Avery wizard will do for you?

I agree with Mary - you probably don't even need the wizard.
