Windows 8?

I would suggest those instructions you show lead to an HP fix rather than a Windows fix.

If Win 8 then at the start page just start typing Control Panel, you only need about 3 letters and it will show onscreen.
click Control panel
in the new window under the heading "System and Security" click the last choice to fix your computer. Just follow the instructions and see if that helps.

Look in your manage add on's for any crap toolbars or otherwise disable, then go to control panel remove programs and uninstall any junk... you got something in there causing the problem. And run a maleware scan ASAP.

Well Owbist, I had to post this so many times before it would go through, I thought I had told you it was windows 7 on a desk top HP computer, Since I don't know doodley beans about computers, I would have hoped you would have been a little easier on me. Sorry, PK

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop click Here
Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

1 Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.

2 If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.

3 Once the program has loaded, select "Quick Scan", then click Scan

4 The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.

5 When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.

6 Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

7 When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)

8 The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.

9 Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediately.

I have had malware bytes for a long time, I have run it probably twice in the last week. Nothing shows up. now what? and thanks for the info. PK

**Is that happening in Internet Explorer ? It appears you're using version 11.

**Have you tried another browser to test the issue?

It does appear to be connection related, the next steps would be to un - plug router and modem for a min or so then replug them in.

This is just a small program runs right from desktop, no need to install anything, simple.....

Clean out your temporary internet files and temp files.

Download TFC by OldTimer click Here to your desktop. Click the Save file tab, save it to the desktop. Then double click it to run it.

Double-clickTFC.exe to run it.

Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator

TFC will close all programs when run, so make sure you have saved all your work before you begin

* Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process.
* Depending on how often you clean temp files, execution time should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two.
* Please let TFC run uninterrupted until it is finished.

Once TFC is finished it should restart your computer. If it does not, please manually restart the computer yourself to ensure a complete cleaning.

So:

1 Answer the question about browser.

2 Do the up plug-router modem thing.

3 Run the temp file cleaner.
