Took me a little time to figure out that I had to highlight the name of the printer, then right click on it in order to get the, "Set as default printer." words to show, but I finally got it. Thanks again!

I have the P1006 and it does this when I let it run out of paper. The print jobs get stuck in the queue and won't print. I usually unplug the unit for a little while, reconnect and it starts up again on reboot. It's a great printer, but this glitch is a pain in the neck. I hope this link will help. kit, I don't know if laser toner cartridges are similar to 'ink' cartridges. I don't have that particular printer, but here is my experience with filling an 'ink' cartridge. After a lot of work, and prying, I finally got my cartridge apart (the top off), and got it refilled. When I put the cartridge back together and in the printer, it gave me an error message...out of alignment or something. I think I damaged the cartridge somewhat when I pried the top off. It 'was' a real chore. After several attempts, I got the message to go away and the printer working. I think what I will do in the future, is drill a small hole in the top of cartridge, fill with ink via the needle, and then either put a piece of tape on the hole or a small dot of glue. I'm with you...cheaper to get a new printer, than buy cartridges...what a shame. Sue

That's a monochrome printer I think - just prints in black and white. So anything color is going to come out grey. If it wasn't for that (and this is what I had written before I realized your printer is B&W) . . . Many printer dialog boxes have a checkbox for Black & White, which should be unchecked, or the green will indeed come out grey. Check for that in both your software's print dialog box, and the printer's preferences/properties. And usually there is also a setting in the printer preferences to print darker or lighter.
