I used to use photo bucket to post photos here, not sure how it is done any more. Now I post them from my computer by using the browse button and follow your path to the photo you want. Also if you use that to post a photo then add some text to the post you will have to
re post the photo.

OK.

Had to test it first.

Open photo bucket, navigate to the picture you want, put your mouse over it

Then click on that gray looking gear / wheel

Now click get links

Now look for HTML

Click on it, it will say copied.

Come back to forum

In a reply box, put mouse in, right click , select paste and submit.

I do hope the advice from Z and ER helps you out.

Historically this forum self-polices the use of pictures, avatars, etc. in threads. This along with voluntary compliance extends a courtesy to those members who may be still on DUN, have a slow "high speed" connection, or an unreliable connection. Not only could those members be a reader, they may also be the member who has the answer to the thread.

Through all the years this way has been very successful.

Ha, DA, I wasn't sure if these images were the result of these folks revisiting the "holiday spirits" cabinet after their guests had left or what. Both are bizarre.

I'm still puzzled but it's no matter.

I am so stupid, I know better than to post in here.

It has been in a confusing change process but this is what I do using Win7 and Opera browser. Very much like Zep's.

1. open your folder with wanted image & minimize it to get it out of the way.

2. enter photobucket user name and password (log in).

3. in new screen, left click the orange UPLOAD box.

4. maximize your folder with images and left click on the .jpg file wanted.

5. in the dialog box that appears asking if you want to upload files to smg.photobucket.com left click YES.

6. now an unrelated video opens where the pic should be -- below it is a thumbnail of your pic --- left click on that thumbnail.

7. new screen appears with larger thumb. and to the right are 4 links in boxes --- left click on the one labeled HTML --- it vanishes for a second as it copies that link to your windows clipboard (cache).

At this point I paste into notepad so I can compose text to go with my pic. Or bypass that and paste the copied link wherever wanted using the right-click of the mouse to get the paste option.

For just one photo, it's faster/easier to use the "upload" link, right at the top of your reply window. Browse your computer for the file you want, click, and it will appear in the preview.
Multiple pix in a post (photobucket), you'll have to get the proper link for each image, then just copy & paste it into your message box. They too will appear when you do the preview. Preview also gives you the chance to add/delete/edit your message. TIP: make sure either method is a correct size photo. The forum automatically posts images as 650 pixels wide. If your photo is only 400 pixels wide, it will get "blown up" (enlarged) and look fuzzy. Good luck.
