Where does the Anti Malware notice come from? Does it come from one of your programs? Is one of your security programs telling you that Malware has been successfully blocked?

zep and raven: Yes, I have Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware that was installed 5/17/10. The message I get is "Successfully blocked access to potentially malicious website". I get this every time I log onto any GW forum, or click on any thread. I am only getting this on GW.

have you updated and run the malwarebytes scan the full scan? be sure you do update it prior to running it.

Is that the paid version of Malwarebytes? It appears others have had this warning from malwarebytes and seems to have something to do with blocking IP addresses.

If you have the Malware Bytes professional version, it watches network traffic going in and out on your computer. It especially watches for contacts with IP addresses that are known to have viruses. It sees the IP address of gardenweb when you visit this site (208.87.149.250). MB might be flagging the address because of the popups that gardenweb sends out, but it's more likely that some other web site on the same IP address is trying to infect visitors with viruses. That one IP address hosts more than 200 web sites, including lots of porn and other shady looking places that are prime vectors for viruses. The hosting service (firstlook.com) needs to find out who is causing the problems and make them clean it up or boot them, or gardenweb could move to a host that keeps their sites clean.
You probably do not have a virus, MB can't tell which of the more than 200 sites you are trying to get to, so it blocks all of them.

It never ceases to amaze me, how ppl. think just because they download AVG or malewarebytes, that's it, the job is done!! oh no far from it, you should first run full scan, then about once a week depending on what you do on the internet open it put check in quick scan and run it!!!
