That's a good question Sue!! I always wondered if there was a way to save them as a screensaver as well!

Sue my experience has been that I can right click on a PowerPoint attachment, click save as and save it to a folder on my computer. You can then attach it to an email like any other file. Hope this works for you.

Bob14, That worked; I have it saved to my desktop. I sent it to myself and that also worked.

I just now sent it to my DD so I will have to wait to see if she gets it.

There is still no actual URL to be seen. I would like to share it at the KT but can't do that without the URL.

Jasdip, that would probably work for you as a screen saver.

When it is on your computer there is no URL. You are sending a copy of the actual file.

On the subject of PowerPoint presentations, if you want any of the beautiful photos found in so many of them and have MS Office it is very easy to extract the photos are even the music.

Simply save the PPS or PPT show to your computer, open it in your PowerPoint program then save it as an html document and you have all the photos and the sound file separated in a folder.

You cannot do this if you only have the PowerPoint viewer. You can also Google PPS and PPT shows and find large numbers of PowerPoint shows to watch.

What I have in Control Panel is Microsoft Office Power Point Viewer 2003.

Is MS Office something else?

Also does the 2003 mean I could/should update it? I don't recall ever seeing anything about updating it.

I did Google and found a couple sites, but not large numbers, of shows.

Yes, Sue, MS Office is the complete program including Word, Excel, etc. What you have is simply an application that allows you to view Power Point presentations. There is a newer version, Power Point Viewer 2007, and you really ought to update to that version for security reasons. It will still allow you to view older presentations as well as the ones created in the newer Office programs. Once you have downloaded and installed 2007, you can go to Control Panel and uninstall the 2003 version.

If you want to view the presentation and save photos from it I find that I can do so using OpenOffice. After installing open office (which is free) I find that I can save a PowerPoint presentation to my computer, right click on it and select 'open with' and pick open office and it opens in the impress module of open office. The pictures are in a row on the left and I can select one then right click and copy and paste it into paint or another graphics program and save it into a folder on my computer. I don't know if you can do this with powerpoint viewer or not as I have never used it.

Here is where I am at this point.

I tried to download PP v 2007. It failed to download. The message said to try again, Failed again.

Next message had 3-4 sites to check on for help. I found no help at any of them. Next was a suggestion to email or phone a Support Professional.

I decided to come here for help, where I always come when I need help.

Also BTW, I found that I evidently have Open Office.org 2.4, and "the Wizard will guide you through the license agreement and installation." One thing at a time though.

What should I do about updating PP 2003?

If you have a high speed connection I would download Open Office 3 and install it. If you're on dial up it's a pretty big download. Unless you prefer power point viewer for some reason I would then uninstall viewer 2003. Open Office has many more uses. It's pretty much compatible with Microsoft Office if you should need to open Word or Excel files and you have the word processor and spreadsheet if you need them.
