Might look in control panel at sounds and scroll down to see if Firefox and its sounds are listed in there. fwiw; Â IE would call the link click sound .. Start Navigation.

I could easily be wrong, but I don't think it's the dictionary. Spelling choices should not show up in the context menu unless you right click on a misspelled word. If some of the dictionary does why not all of it? Why those particular words? Delete those words from the dictionary and see if it helps. You can always put them back in, or it wouldn't be a big loss to leave them out. I would definitely do a system restore to the day before this started to see it that cured it before editing the dictionary, but that's your choice.

you might try downloading IE8 again and reinstall it over the one that you have it may fix any corrupted files. Have you tried clearing all of the cache and cookies and history on your IE that may help also. here is the download link for IE8 Internet Explorer 8 you really need a good working Ie since you need it to get windows updates since you are on xp still. How do I clear my web browser's cache, cookies, and history? that link tells how to do those things on all browsers. Firefox is very easy to use and as mentioned you can add many add ons that help with various things. One I always use is the ad block plus with easylist to stop all the annoying ads on these pages. Feel free to ask for help with learning a new browser.

Hello there mikie, Well I got here and saw before I opened the thread and only saw one reply. I thought, "This can't be good". LOL! I did happen to find my way there to the area you spoke of. I was going to show you a screenshot of my problem. Once I got there, I chose all kinds of sounds to try and get one that will work, but could not. Right before I gave up, I saw a sound option that said "Windows XP Start". That is the same sound I had before! GREAT! Thanks for helping me mikie. I appreciate it greatly. You're a big help to this community. Now my remaining question is how did the changes take place? I never went there and made any changes. Hmm? Thanks, Aurelius
