A number of SSE members have offered this bean over the years. It appears to be a runner bean. There are some interesting comments: "Vines 8' or more, flowers scarlet or scarlet/white bicolor, 5 different seed types, planted these in early July to grow as a fall crop, had no problems with blossom drop and harvested a good crop of seed before our Oct. 18 first frost date." "Scarlet flowers, loved by hummingbirds, beautiful dried seed, maroon/black, tan/brown/pure-white, mottled, striped, speckled, more info next year, received seed only this year, from NC mountain family, over 100 years ("horse" could once have been horticulture)." "Runner bean with multi-colored seeds and flowers, seeds are shades of purple, brown and white, flowers are red, white and bi-color." There is only one entry for 2013 and he has it listed as a common bean. This would not be the first time that a runner has been listed that way in the Yearbook by mistake: "very large pods with up to 4 seeds each, seeds shaped like lima beans, maroon and white in color, very productive." - Dick

The "homeliest gal in all them hills", she grew frantic waiting for suitors to come a-courtin'. When she reached the age of 35, still a spinster, her father was even more frantic�about Sadie living at home for the rest of her life. In desperation, he called together all the unmarried men of Dogpatch and declared it "Sadie Hawkins Day". Specifically, a foot race was decreed, with Sadie in hot pursuit of the town's eligible bachelors�and matrimony as the consequence. "When ah fires [my gun], all o' yo' kin start a-runnin! When ah fires agin�after givin' yo' a fair start�Sadie starts a runnin'. Th' one she ketches'll be her husbin." The town spinsters decided that this was such a good idea, they made Sadie Hawkins Day a mandatory yearly event, much to the chagrin of Dogpatch bachelors. In the satirical spirit that drove the strip, many sequences revolved around the dreaded Sadie Hawkins Day race. If a woman caught a bachelor and dragged him, kicking and screaming, across the finish line before sundown�by law he had to marry her! Sadie Hawkins Day was first mentioned in the November 15, 1937 Li'l Abner daily strip, with the race actually taking place between November 19 and November 30 in the continuity. I'm not married; I don't participate this forum. I just feel compelled to point out that very few SMs on the SF forum write openly about how much they hate their SKs. There are often voices of frustration, stress or anxiety and occasionally of dislike... But when you read the rest of what most posters have to say, they're usually trying to work it out, want to not be frustrated, or are trying to like their SC more. Even the most troubling post of late (the woman who has the 11yo SS who she thinks is a bad role model) is someone looking to make things better, she's just having a LOT of trouble with it and needs to do some growing up herself. After a quick look the marriage forum, I see plenty of posts about trouble that people are trying to work through. At present these posts include porn, potential infidelity, disrespect, sexual dysfunction, potential separation, and, my favourite, wanting to use his mother as a marriage counselor. But this shouldn't make anyone want to run away from marriage, because these are stories of people trying (for the most part) to deal with their troubles and make their lives better for everyone involved. You likely wouldn't want a single person saying that marriage is bad because they saw that many people on this board face obstacles. So, please try to remember that stepfamilies have unique challenges with unique solutions and that it's important that there is a space for people (mostly SMs, but some SDs and SKs) to talk about them without criticism from outsiders.

Hi Where are your pix? He has the couch, it should be finished next week. I went with his suggestion for the microfiber and to raise the legs up a few inches. I also sprung for the upgraded spring cushions. I will try to post a photo when it comes.
