I imported my post from another thread. FF12 beta 1 was released around March 16, 2012, followed by five more betas. The most recent beta 6 around April 18, 2012. A supposed final was released around April 22, 2012. I have read that there is some user confusion as to it being an actual final version, or just a RC (release candidate). I have also read some reported concerns regarding stability of this final/RC version. I myself am waiting for a clarification and a popular position on the release. As always, with any application a user must use caution when exploring betas and RCs. DA

Some users have remained with FF base v3.0 by personal choice and Mozilla has continued to support it at this time. Thus the availablity of update v3.0.13. The current and most secure version of FF is base v3.5 with now the update v.3.5.2 DA

you are welcome, I also did that update today on my firefox 2 and it went very smoothly with no errors, I think it was the last time I did the update that I saw the same error you mentioned. I know I do have a few older addons that are no longer updated and it might be that it tries to connect to those and it does not work, but I am just guessing LOL

It's your responsibility to ensure that you update your firefox browser to the most recent version, you can always find out that information by going directly to the firefox website. It will not automatically update sometimes from an old version, you will need to manually go to the website and select the latest version update. It will retain all the settings and stuff. I use xmarks to keep all my favorites safe and updated. That way should something go wrong I won't lose anything. You can also backup your favorites manually.
