It's not there. There's no search bar in config with FF 29.0.1 but all the browser info is readily available through the "troubleshooting info" tab. No Script is no longer listed in this current version. As I stated above...if a FF user wants it back...they can download it again. It can be found as an add-on if one looks for it as a downloadable add-on. But it was not moved with this current version when the update was made available. FF always advises the user that they will check to see if the users add-ons are compatible with the newest version before they download it. Apparently, they...in their infinite wisdom...decided No Script was not necessary with this newest version. Remember...the FF version I'm dealing with is 29.0.1. Not every FF user is working with this particular new version. I don't think FF just "blew it away". There's simply no need for it with their current built-in security and the app itself can cause problems if it's not used correctly.

Ok this is simple now. Just use Google and type edit registry and millions of hits appear. Look through the first few and you will find many tutorials with good graphics showing step by step. You are nervous and rightly so because of all the warnings about messing up a registry. HOWEVER, this is nothing more than making a correction to a spelling error if you look at it that way. First time just go into the registry working down to the needed page. Once there you can walk away and grab a coffee if you feel stress, or you can make the simple correction to the one entry in question. Those of us who help others always need to stress the importance of caution in the registry because of those who are so impetuous. my ex son in law is a good example, he goes into a computer like a bull in a china shop. Luckily I do not have to clean up behind him anymore :) Now I have learned how to put stuff into a flash drive and save my files. Why? You are going to back up the registry as a precaution, nothing more. To save your work, assuming it is stored in My Documents. Insert the thumb drive, cancel the popup right click Start click Explore Now you see Windows Explorer opened Look near the top on the left side and right click on My Documnts click Properties in the pop up Look to see how large the My Documents folder is and if you have enough room on the thumb drive. We'll assume you have room. OK.... Click My Documents to highlight On the right side click the top item to highlight Hold down the Shift key and tap the End key now all the right side is highlighted right click anywhere on the highlighted data click Copy in the pop up Scroll down the left side now to find the thumb drive right click on it in the pop up click Paste and the contents are copied to your thumb drive - or any other drive you designate. Done! Simple huh?

Usually it's a two step process - a file is downloaded to your PC, then it needs to be "run" If you're using Firefox, after the download, click on the downward pointing arrow at the upper right on the tool bar. Then you should see a file that ends in .exe. Click on that, that will install the product. If using Chrome, a bar appears on the bottom that shows the download's progress. When it's complete, click on the box for the file to run. Either way, the same. Where it downloads to, the desktop or a different folder, is of no consequence so long as you access it from the browser when the download shows as having finished.

The programs that I have used in the past were Norton, Avast, and McAfee. IMO they were all horrible. Caused my computer to be extremely slow, as well as other issues. When I found Malwarebytes, I was very happy with it. Used the free for personal use version for several years. Then when I started being hit with ransomware, decided it was time to start paying for a program I knew was good. Have not regretted it. What I ended up doing was disconnecting the power from my computer, home network router, and cable internet router for most of the day. I was away from home so did not need the computer. Upon restarting internet router, then home network router, then computer, my problems ended. Malwarebytes ran a scan (3.1.2 version and all is good. I love Malwarebytes. The problem now is that I keep getting a warning from "Microsoft Technologies" that I have threats that need to be repaired. How in the .... do I get rid of that?
