Moving bookmark bar above tabs

I was having a problem with the google search engine and I used the restore FF offers. Now my bookmark bar is below the tabs. I have searched and searched and can't find a way to move it up. I have W 7, FF 17.o.1 and have scanned for problems and found nothing.

The problem I had with the search engine is, it did not search. I could search with IE, but not with FF. I think it might have been an add on.

BTW if any of you like the red cats (green flavor) it has been updated. Yeah!!!!

Photo Galleries Have Been Moved Against our Will

Good discussion here and many valid points. I think much of this comes down to consideration of others. I could easily post twenty times a day asking various questions, showing time-lapse photos of cultivars, posting question threads, photos, etc. but I don't. I am aware that I am not the only person on the planet that matters and that posting too many photos becomes overwhelming and distracting to others. When it does become a bit of an unintentional problem is when there are 20 galleries that are spread out over several weeks/months that get bumped by 3-4 photos, then another user bumpers 2-3 galleries, etc. and all of the sudden the top 8 posts are galleries - even if they are created by different forum users and bumped by seperate people as well. As I've said before, from my end, I'll still post some photos from time to time, for sure some time-lapse photo series and make contributions/questions, but as to making/contributing to galleries that are going to get lost in the gallery section with one response, oblivious to most, I'm not going to waste my time. GARDENWEB: I DO SECOND SAM'S IDEA OF HAVING THE GALLERY SECTION VISABLE ON THE RIGHT, NOT A SEPERATE LINK. -Will

Firefox tabs help....raven?

you are very welcome Pam glad that helped. One thing your husband may want to try, this is what I do and like it, I create folders on the bar directly above the tabs which is the bookmarks toolbar, in those folders I put say my daily faves the ones I go to first every day, then all I have to do is right click that folder and hit open all in tabs and voila there they all are. I do a folder for my emails too since I have a few and can open all them at once the same way. I love the bookmarks tool bar, if you choose not to put them in folders you can simply drag any website you are currently on to the bookmarks tool bar by grabbing it's icon in the url bar and just drag it to that toolbar and it will stick, to change the name right click on the icon choose properties and you can make changes. to create the folder on the bar right click a clear space click new folder the box comes up to name it, then to put your faves in there just go to the website and drag it in or right click on the folder and select add bookmark here.

I could not go back to NOT using tabs can not even imagine it. Once you start and get used to how much time it saves you and how easy it is to do you will quickly start to love them. Plus it is easier on your pc to have only mulitple tabs open rather than having multiple instances of complete windows open. This is one thing I love about tabs. I can set up a folder up on the bookmarks toolbar in that folder I put the links to every site I visit every day, like this forum, the other forums I am on, my netvibes page which contains all my rss news feeds, my email sites. Then in the morning I go to that folder easily accessible on the top of the firefox bar right click on it and select open all in tabs. Bam immediately I have my full list of tabs open in one movement now that is a huge time saver, They are there open and ready for me to visit one after the other. I have another folder up there called tools in that one I have the links to all the security programs I have to recommend or list many times a day when helping people with pc issues, I do not have to go looking in favorites or google or where ever for them I have them all right there in that folder on my bookmarks toolbar, I left click the folder go to the one I need right click it to open in new tab and I am there. Huge asset.

The version of FF used is important. I knew I wasn't quite yet going out of my mind as my v17.01 doesn't display anything like referred to above.

No it's not there. That is what I discovered when I searched for a solution. None of the instructions worked for me. Even FF didn't have a solution. I did find something about a bug, but I couldn't understand any of it.

The odd thing is I had it set above before setting FF to default.

Thanks DA, should have followed up on that site sooner. It worked.

I am such a creature of habit, I kept clicking on the wrong thing.

Just a follow up on this problem. I still had the problem with Google in FF, it would not search so I did a system restore to a November date. When I got it updated again and things in order, the tabs were on the top again. I checked view before I went to the site DA recommended, low and behold the option "tabs on top" was there. The mysteries of the computer!
