do you happen to still have the paper work that came with it like the directions and the instructions manual that will have all your default info in it and how to reset it. If not look on the bottom for the model and google that you should be able to go to the manufacturer site and find the manuals. Did you set up your router originally with it connected to a desktop computer, in other words which pc did you install the software on? The router is setup on the family PC not my Laptop. Unplugging the router (and modem if one) itself from power and powering down all the computers, then power up the modem if you have cable first then after a while power up the router and once it is fully up then power up the various computers, often makes a big difference. I think we have a modem and a router for Xbox and laptops. are you just using the Vista built in firewall? Yes.I'm using the windows firewall. what are you using is it cable or dsl or what for internet? My son says it's cable/DSL internet. have you done all your windows updates? Yes, letting it sit over nite really does not matter, they heat up instantly, Does it feel hot? The other possibility is it is a (BSOD) Do you see a blue screen right before it shuts down? They can occur very quickly & you may miss it. it is a blue screen with an error on it, If that is the case try this setting after you do you will now be able to see blue screen error, we would need this error to help you, here are the steps 1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties. Click the Advanced tab. Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings to open the Startup and Recovery dialog box. Clear the Automatically restart check box, and click OK the necessary number of times. Restart your computer for the settings to take effect. Now when you go to shut down and a fatal error occurs, you'll at least see it and it won't cause an automatic reboot. You still have to sort out what's causing the problem.

Yeah, THANKS ALOT ravencajun, that was really helpful but im kinda scared of downloading iso since it would be a "clean" download, and from my understanding that means i will loose all apps. and other programs i already have, and it asks for me to turn of my antivirus and firewall off. Do you know if this is safe at all, i really wouldnt like to do that all. Also I emailed digital river with this concern and they told me to upgrade my browser, which i did, i upgraded to explorer 8 i dont know if that will help much but I will try once again tomorrow. If there are any other suggestions out there I would SERIOUSLY appreciate them.
