Hi, I'am new to the site,looking for help in locating and old crossstitch leaflet. It's a 3 page leaflet that was printed to be used with damask squares. The aquares were about 12 or so inches, an the crossstitch middle was around 3 or 4 inhes. The pamplet was for pillows, and mainly was a alpabet chart. The pillow would have a large letter in the center and some small flowers going around and over the letter and just a name and date or something, I really donot remember what else. I think it was a leasure arts leafletor maybe hutspot?? not sure. It was a simple design. I nkow this a shot in the dark, any help would be appreciated, thanks cherbear3

We gave our 3-year-old ring bearer a Mickey Mouse watch (that was 1982; perhaps Dora or Bill would be better now, but maybe a plain one would be even better, because it's so grown up). It was a big hit. He couldn't tell time, of course, but he loved wearing it and showing it to everyone. I think children LOVE things that seem very grown up to them. A watch is good for a boy or a girl, and you can get inexpensive ones easily. If you don't like that idea, how about a CD, book, or jewelry? I wouldn't worry about it being something that will last. This is a good errand to farm out to one of those people who is saying, "What can I do to help?"

When I was young, our neighbour's son became engaged and when I told Dad that I'd heard it, his response was rather subdued. When I asked why he wasn't elated, enthused, etc., farmer Dad said that he felt that the young man was "driving his pigs to a poor market". I think that he attended, if he were invited, and offered good wishes for their marriage, but his opinion, call it "judgement", if you will, was that the marriage was very likely not a good fit and would be somewhat less than ideal, if it lasted. The couple stayed together for many years, don't know about children ... but I think that there were different ideas as to lifestyle, and that his choice resulted in something of a drag on him. I heard Chisue expressing regret that she felt that the people's choices were not a good fit, and there would likely be more heartache ahead ... and that most of us would not choose heartache for our friends, especially relatives ... but the choice is made by others, not by us: they hadn't asked our opinion (and if they had, it seems to me that it would behoove us to offer, along with our good wishes, some gently expressed reservations about the possible success of the enterprise). She had gone with some anticipation, with some reservations, but realized while there and after that her support of the situation was less in the event than she'd anticipated. I agree with the folks who were saying that they feel that in our society there's been an erosion in our levels of integrity and of commitment and working hard to follow through on our commitments in recent years. Get married ... and if it doesn't work ... leave and try again with someone else. "Serial polygamy," I've heard that called, on a bit of a lighter note. ole joyful.
