Nice pictures, but what's up with the running shoes and white laces? Was it an outdoor wedding?

I saw an engaged couple on the Tyra Show that had an issue over shoes like this, and the bride ended up prevailing, although she had to make a concession in order to get the groom to wear dress shoes. My brother wore tails and spats when he got married, but he's very formal.

I LOVE the bridemaids' dresses - those are some of the nicest I have ever seen. Sorry about the shoe comment - I couldn't help myself.

Great pix. Lars, that is not uncommon to do in the midwest...change into sneakers with lace shoestrings. People here don't care so much about what is proper as much as what is practical and comfortable. I think it is a really cute thing to do. All those people dancing at the reception in comfy shoes!

At the dance I changed into jeweled flip-flops! Of course I took them off to dance. I can't dance with shoes on! LOL
(Okay, I can't dance with them off, either, but I have a good time!)

I love the sneakers! I wore my favorite well worn New Balance hi-tops with my formal wedding gown much to the surprise of some guests, but not to anyone who knew me!
