You have Vista which has a 2 way firewall already. However take a squint here for some firewall comparisons. You will find Ghost Firewall listed at #20 in the "Firewalls Fading Away or Gone Completely" list well down the page.

Sorry, I was talking about an XP desktop. I managed to get it installed without having to accept their search and toolbar. I went to the website forums and there were complaints about not being able to install without accepting their terms. Someone posted a way around it and I tried it and it worked. When you run the installer, if you do not check the two boxes for the search and home page, the 'accept' button will not work. If you try 'custom install' it still won't work without checking the two boxes. At the bottom left of the screen, under their name, there is a small dark line which says 'skip offer'. I never saw it as it is almost the same color as the background and tiny. A nice person, on the website discovered it and posted the solution. Worked perfectly! I hope this helps anyone trying to update to the latest version. Thanks for all the help, Jane

Update, wish I hadn't stuffed my old fiberglass insulation behind the wall. Not to do with it being back there. But, as a side effect, whole attic was covered in fiberglass dust. Vacumed every square inch of the truss system. Which is a lot considering I have one side of a sloped roof from back to back condos, at which the roof goes from 0 to 21 feet high at the back wall and the whole truss system is 2X4s. So there is a lot of them. Wife is not a happy camper. due to long term side effects of Adderall, which was made worse in 2022 when I escalated my dose to account for interference from another medication, exponentially accelerating the accumulating side effects. My motivation, energy level, executive function, and other stuff is shot. So, more than half the replacement insulation for my attic is still in the living room. Each step exposed more problems that needed to be addressed. Roofers that were not just incompetent, but negligent, took more of my time to try to learn enough so no BS argument would be valid and make them fix some of it. Some I just fixed myself since I'd probably have to redo it after them anyway. The good news is, with less than half the replacement insulation in my attic, my heating and cooling bills are still lower than before. What I uncovered and what I fixed so far is what made the difference. Whether it is a 98 degree heat wave or 9 degree overnight cold spell. Furnace and A/C don't have to work as hard. Which says a lot about the original builders Hovnanian. And Jersey City code enforcement who inspects nothing. Including for the negligent incompetent roofers I reported to them multiple times. Proof enough right here. Even public exposure for Jersey City code enforcement couldn't get them to do their job. See the conversation from the seeclickfix website for reporting issues to the town.
