I didn't reply because the request is too broad. Have you looked and narrowed down choices at all? Gotten any idea what you like and don't like? Have any special needs (folks who cater or entertain a lot want more tray room, room for large cakes, etc.)? The appearance you want is important and will quickly narrow down some choices as mentioned above. Is budget and issue? The big name in big fridges include Subzero, Thermador (and the related Bosch and Gaggenau), GE Monogram, and Kitchenaid. Leibherr is limited in availability in many areas. I was able to quickly rule out the Subzero madoels I looked at because the ice was so low to the floor. The GE Monogram didn't allow you to pull the drawers out witht he door at 90 degrees and I don't think they came out fully. We were looking at the Thermador made by Kitchenaid(not the Freedom series) and Kitchenaid and planned on getting one of those when I saw the Thermador Freedom series. We went with Thermador Freedom and got a 30" fridge and 18" freezer installed side by side since the space was already committed when they first appeared. I've raved about them plenty here. I'll spare you another verse for now --- search and you'll find plenty of fridge discussions. Go look at them and see what looks and feels right to you. Then come back and search and ask about specific questions and I'm sure you'll find more comments. ALso, keep in mind that it's a holiday weekend.

No no no no moebus. Miele and Gaggenau did not partner to build a Turkish fridge factory. That was totally a Bosch mothership decision ! Miele came to them hat in hand so to speak asking them to build a unit to spec so that they didn't get shut out of or left behind in one of their largest markets - the USA. Miele had no U.S. fridge offering and there was no way they were going to be able to peddle one of their midget euro offerings from Liebherr here nor did getting a local manuf. to build one make much sense. Gaggenau refrigeration was simply along for the ride on deal. The first units to be sold in the USA out of that plant were labeled with the Thermador badge and BSH heavily promoted the "Freedom" collection before releasing the other brands. Units labeled Bosch were offered for a while , but never sold well and were mostly scrapped. I think they still sell a 30" model on that platform. Gaggenau was bringing up the rear on their rollout. The Miele models were even later to arrive stateside and feature some parts that are shipped from Miele Germany to Turkey to be integrated into the base platform before being boxed up. BSH is climbing a slippery slope if the think they are going to sell a made in China built in fridge here for close to ten grand.

We are making the same decision right now -- either sub zero or thermador for a 36" French Door. I'm leaning towards Thermador based on (i) price (cheaper to start, then factor in the free range hood and it beats the sub by a $3k or more); and (ii) some aesthetic aspects, like the integrated look, the LED column style lighting, and that it would match a touch better with a Thermador range (which includes a free dishwasher). Based on name along, and my support of American manufactured products, I wanted the sub, but it's really hard to justify the extra money, particularly when I already have a hard time justifying the extra spend over the price of a Samsung FD which worked just fine for me for 5 years. But I would love to hear if anyone has any other thoughts. When is the Sub Zero 42 inch French Door coming out? I see it in the design guide, so I assume sometime this year.

Alas, I have to agree with jawkmdn. Our Samsung is two years old and has had problems requiring service. We like the configuration but not the problems. The appliance service guys have advised against buying Samsung. Don't know if this applies to other than refrigerators.
