hello, the machine is only 3 years old,yes i did destroy all the data on it after i formatted.i still have the larger drive but it won't read it. last night a neighbor gave me a windows 2000 disc and i formatted the drive again and it worked;it saw the full capacity of the drive and is ready to use, however when i try to bring the second drive with 225 + gigs of data on it it will not see it no matter how i switch things around bios won't read it, so i took it out, the drive i have working is set to master and is the only drive in the pc but bios says it is a secondary slave drive but it is on the primary ide channel and set to master!!everything in bios is set to auto detect drives,but as soon as i connect the other drive as a slave drive and reboot, the computer freezes and gets stuck on the post screen and hangs.funny thing is when i take that drive and put it in the hard drive enclosure that converts regular drives to use with usb and plug it into the computer i am on right now and reboot, windows comes up and says : found new hardware,mass storage usb device,your hardware is installed and ready to use,it even gives me a new drive letter,shows the drive as a western digital drive but... when i click on the drive letter it says please insert a disk into drive j....hmmm

I ran it for a while and the "learning" process was definately something to get used to. Had to uninstall it and boy did I have trouble doing that. For some reason it didnt uninstall everything, because when I went into running processes, Comodo was still running. That was after reboots and everything. I think I will stay away from that one for a bit

when you get the updated version for zone alarm you no longer have to keep it at medium you go back to high, moving the slider to medium was/ is only for those that have not updated their zone alarm to the latest updated fixed version. I use an old version of zone alarm pro the old versions were not affected. You will see on the page I linked to from zone alarm in the center it says recommended actions: Recommended Actions - Download and install the latest versions which solve the loss of internet access problem here (English only): then there are the links to the new versions of zone alarm you select the one that you have be it za free basic firewall or za suite. The other options listed below that are only for if you did not do this step. This is the version number you want to have it is the latest updated one. 7.0.483.000 ONLY get these from the zone alarm site to make sure you are getting the fixed version or by going into your zone alarm program and hitting the update button it will get the update for you.

I used to have zone alarm but when I installed Windows 7 I decided not to reinstall it. Usually when a product upgrades itself it automatically gets rid of the old installation, this being the case with ZA if I remember correctly. Installation for firewall/antivirus software is pretty straightforward. Usually the default settings are the best choices for the average user. As for the drive situation it kinda depends on what operating system you are running to determine the easiest solution. Windows 7 has a new thing called libraries that makes it easy to link folders from different drives into one place. In older versions of Windows or Linux or Mac OS's I would suggest moving all non program files taking space on your C drive to your E drive. This frees up space for any programs that need to be installed on the C drive. I am new to this forum so I am not quite sure why your posts run off the page. It might be an issue with your screen resolution being too small for the web page to fit all in one screen or maybe a browser setting.
