My first thought is that your sister's computer is infected with Trojans. Both AdAware2008 (not the outdated AdAwareSE) and Superantispyware should be considered as totally safe programs in my opinion. Your sister should update and run both plus do a couple of online scans.

What anti virus and anti spyware programs does sis run and can she update all of them?

I just spent 2 days cleaning up 67 Trojans from a computer. These pests managed to wipe out the firewall and all safety programs including AVG. They disabled the ability to go online using IE and severely messed with Firefox too. Even transferring via thumb drive was no help as the programs could not be installed and the Administator rights access had been removed and the ability to use regedit denied. Using the recovery partition was not an option either as there was the fear that too was corrupt.

Very well could be some type of infection, also there has been some conflicts with adaware and other programs recently so I also might suspect that. Personally since she has removed adaware all ready I would leave it off, I would go ahead and try the superantispyware after updating it again and see how that goes. If anything seems strange then I would remove it and do a fresh re-install of it.
When things are put in quarantine they are safe there and should they be needed files you can do as you did and re-insert them.
There is one other program that is better than all those right now and I would definitely have her install it update it and run a full scan, if she has some of the really nasty malware it will be the one that will get them.
I currently advise using superantispyware and malwarebytes and run the scans (full scan) weekly.

when running a scan always only have one running at a time.

I run (or ran) both AVG 7.something (still resisting 8) and the Anti Spyware too. The Anti Spyware has began demanding I update to 8, I have to go to the Windows Task Manager to remove the dialog box.

After one try to get to the free version of AVG Anti Spyware through a nest of purchased version, I gave up and removed this Anti Spyware.

My sister has Norton Antivirus on her computer and it is suppose to take care of the Trojans. It also has virus protection, spyware protection, an inbound firewall. It has an outgoing and incoming email scanning and instant messenger scanning. She has no problems running Norton, or SuperAntiSpyware. I had her remove Ad-Aware 2007 because I believe it was either corrupt or just stopped working. She should have had 2008 but like I said her husband was seriously ill and then passed away Thanksgiving morning. She was up here when all this took place since he was brought here hoping to get him better care. I am trying to get her back on track with her computer with check disks, defrags and updates that she may have missed while she was here.

Thank you for all the information. Since I had her do the Check Disk and Defrag her computer has been faster and there seems to be no other problems. I haven't had her run another scan in SuperAntiSpyware yet, I wanted to make sure that everything was running smoothly again before we try running another scan. I do see where there is a place where she can click for a false positive if that should happen again. But before I would have her do that I will have her to uninstall and reinstall SuperAntiSpyware just to make sure Ad-Aware was not the cause of it showing something in the registry. I will look into Malwarebytes 'Anti-malware after everything else is done. I am very interested and from what you say it sounds like a pretty stable program. I will have to print out the instuctions and play with it myself before I get her involved with something new. Since she is not familiar with this stuff and is afraid to try something new, it is best that I try it out first and then introduce her to it.
