Gmail - anyone having problems laoding?

Within the past several wks, I changed my mail to gmail & thought everything was wonderful. I liked the way it functions as well as the chat component. Lately however, I receive the following msg when logging into my mail:

This seems to be taking longer than usual.If you are using a slow Internet connection, you can wait a bit longer for this page to finish loading, or just use basic HTML view for now.

I've deleted history & cookies, turned the computer off completely - everything I can think of as well as following the gmail troubleshooting suggestions on-line. Nothing seems to work. I was using IE & even downloaded Mozilla to see if that would make any difference whatsoever. I have AVG Free Edition for my virus scan. Obviously I must be missing something, but I don't know what else to try. Can you suggest something for me?

When I was still using dialup before converting to highspeed, I would get that message from time to time. Otherwise no problems loading at the moment

Thanks Shboom. Perhaps it is the download speed. I recently switched from dialup to Hughesnet and when I first came on-line, the loading speed seemed quite fast. Recently however Hughesnet has seemed slower than usual. Perhaps that's it. I'll definitely talk w/ Hughesnet to see if there's a problem. The neighbor has Hughesnet & commented tonight about the slower download speed he had been noticing.

Can't help you with your email. I don't use Gmail or Yahoo anymore, to many problems. If you use FF look for "no squint" in the ad ons. You can adjust the font size there. The icon is always on my add on bar on the bottom, you can change the font size and the back ground color. I love the option to change the back ground color. Right now I have a orange sherbert color for a back ground. It saves eye strain caused by the bright white MS insists on using. The fonts on the tool bars are far to small for comfort. I change that right away when I set up my PC, it is a more stable change. In W 7 right click on the desktop, Personalize, click on window color, then on advance appearance. A menu will come up, click on the area you want the font or background color changed. I like this way better but some internet site fonts are to small and the no squint helps there. On my W 8 computer the font and background color change is under display.

it's my understanding, and correct me if i'm wrong, but i think many/most of the deaths attributed to these things were the result of either obstructions or chemical poisonings due to the preservatives used in ALL treats containing or made from rawhide. rawhide is notorious for being undigestible and ending up as a glob of goo in a dog's digestive tract. googling dreambones, i see the that the packaging is now claiming "rawhide free". i wonder if that has made any impact on the number of deaths. i never gave these to any of my dogs and never will and since all of the controversy, i've often wondered why they haven't been taken off the market completely along with any other treat or chew toy containing rawhide. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I tried your suggestion and find though it works, it requires several more steps than I am accustomed to. Right clicking on the photo allowed me to save it directly into the "family folder." My dear husband was the computer expert and I struggle to continue the tradition he started many years ago. Sure hope I can get back to doing it my old familiar way. sigh

There is a new version link on the side bar. The new version is no good. Open the page, go to the top and click older version, that will take you back to the older version, but you will have to do it over and over again, to make sure it says on the older version. It was released before it was ready.
