My typing is so bad not to mention my command over the English language. I struggle with spelling and basic sentence structure. Getting thoughts from keyboard to forum has always been difficult for me. I continue to work at it and have improved.

I have my very 1st Mac - an SE30 (this is an all in one with a black and white, 9-inch display, for those who need to brush up on their Mac history ;-) - sitting right next to my Mac G5 (earlier version of the Mac Pro, the current mama of all Macs), that I'm typing this on. I have no doubt I could fire that 21 year old baby up tomorrow and it would run like a top - S-L-O-W - but it would run ;-) Got the original keyboard, mouse and cable, and I bet if I looked hard enough I could find the software somewhere around here, not sure about the manuals ;-) I'm terribly interested in your BIL's baby - do you know how old and what size his monitor is? Mine is the largest sold at the time (approx. 8 years ago - yep, I'm using an EIGHT YEAR OLD, albeit top-of-the-line, Macintosh and it runs better than any PC I've ever used, period, the end), a first generation 30" Cinema Display and I use it as a TV/DVD/DVR too - is he planning on using it this way or has he already got it set up? If already set, I would really enjoy hearing the specifics or, if not, I can make recommendations based on my experience (and would provide an email addy if you want to take this off-forum, JLMK, I don't work for any software or hardware company, just so you know). BTW, all of the software I use, even the ancient OS 9 apps mostly fill my 30-inch Cinema Display. I suspect there is a display settings change needed. I'm running (an older) OS10.4.11, aka "Tiger" (so I can keep my OS 9 apps, even though most are laughable crutches at this point), but I've been using this Mac since "Jaguar" and the software has always mostly filled the screen. The current Mac OS, for those trying to keep up, is Snow Leopard, LOL! If I could justify or luxuriously afford an iPad, I'd probably get one, but I've got an iPhone, and it's very efficient for how small it is, so I'd probably opt for the Macbook Pro instead, if I could afford/needed it, even! As I said above, my 8 yr. old G5 leaves nothing to be desired except an Intel chip to run newer apps and mobility. Huh? No, the question is what email service is the native email program (Apple Mail, in this case on a Mac) set up to connect to. That setting needs to be entered once for every so-called mail "client" app or program on a PC, Smartphone, or tablet. It has nothing to do with default program relationships for file types. Ginny, I know how to do it on ipads and iphones but not immediately on Macs. I have two Macs in the family but neither is here right now for me to look at. A Google search found the following two approaches, they differ perhaps depending on which version of Apple Mail you have. But either or a combination of the two should get you where you want to be. If these don't work, again, refer to an Apple forum. #1 To Set Up Your Apple Mail From the Mail menu, select Preferences. Go to the Accounts tab, and then click the plus sign(+) at the bottom of the Accounts box. In the Add Account window, enter your full name, email address and email password. Click Continue. or #2 To begin, click on the Mail -> Add Account... menu. On this screen, you will be asked about the type of account you will be adding to the application. Select the last option - Add Other Mail Account...Continue button. Now, simply add your name, email address and the password for it. ++++++++++++++++++++ Edited to add As a quick alternative, just start your browser (Safari), go to and log into gmail, compose a new message and then add the photo as an attachment. You'll need to know the location of the photo on the PC to do that and you probably can do a drag and drop for attaching it.

LAD is supposed to be a rebloomer too but in your zone, I would have expected to see flower buds closer to the Summer. Hope that what you are seeing are leaf buds and not flower buds. And hope it is just a few. When the buds are small, you can't tell leaf and flower buds apart. One word of caution regarding winter protecting: Be careful with that this year. We may get a La Nina Winter per weather.com so just keep an eye tuned to the weather. Especially if you do not winter protect. Depending on one's location, it may result in unusual weather changes that might affect hydrangeas. I did not winter protect last year and even with my mild weather, I got zapped. Example of issues you can expect with a La Nina Winter and which vary depending on your location: it may be drier than normal (so keep an eye on soil moisture and water if dry indeed and if the soil has not frozen); it may be wetter than normal (so save money and turn off the drip and sprinklers); it may be colder than normal (so winter protect); it may be warmer than normal (so winter protect too). This last one sounds odd but it got me last year. Winter was mild to start and did not get going until early January, when temps just crashed in to the teens. The mopheads that bloom on old wood never went fully dormant with daytime temps in the 50-70s and their flower buds or their stems got zapped and prodcuded almost no blooms in Spring. The important thing to keep in mind is that when they predict long term, they may say things like it will be warmer than normal (for example). But there will still be times when you may get "normal" weather or even the opposite of what was forecast. Last winter was El Nino, they advertised mild temps for me and that was true for a month. I got used tothat, dropped my guard, stopped paying attention to the weather forecasts and got caught unprepared when temps crashed to the teens in January. Jeeez, it was not until after the cold had hit that my brain woke up and asked if the hydrangeas had been winter protected. Oops. I even had the materials beside the bushes to be used at any moment but, ooops! Hee hee hee. (insert a big ooops smile here). Of course, if you typically get dead stems after every winter, you could gamble and leave them unprotected. But ck the long term forecasts if you can. It is supposed to be drier and warmer than normal for me. Since the warmer part got me last winter, I will selectively apply winter protection to those that got zapped last winter first. Now, I have time to do all that since they usually go dormant late Nov or in Dec.
