Vicki: Plants need water--of course, not nearly as much in cold weather--and indoors, in your garage. I'd monitor it every few weeks to a month, and give it water--sparingly--when the soil feels dry. Don't soak. If mice or voles have access to your garage, they'll eat the fig bark and wood. I don't want to sound like a stuck record about this, but I lost a number of figs (in my basement) last Winter when voles got in, and I'm sounding the alarm about them. Put your figs where mice can't get them. I don't know the temperature in your garage, but 30F to 40F would be ideal.

Hey Anita: I can be serious too, yes I do have a nestcam, I didn't have the nestcam set up for the first batch of the year, But have got it set up for the second batch, the mother has three eggs now, I also set up a cheap TV from Salvation Army out side my shed for the rest of those in the Trailer Park to also be able to see what's going on. As far as your baby with it's head back, well it probably just fell asleep like that, being it is probably just a day or two old with out much muscle tone to control much of any thing. I had a baby that was about a couple of days old, young enough that you could open the side of the bluebird box and they would still have their mouth open to any sound. Anyway got one picture where this one bluebird neck looked really bad, looked like a really big gash, I was really worried about the little bird, but they all grew up Ok and flew away Ok as far as I know, maybe some of them might end up with attention deficit disorder which some of us have, but I think they will be Ok. As far as your baby bird goes, maybe his neck feels a little sore and the way he has it laid out is the best way for him to feel good physically, but with out much muscle tone in his neck, He probably said good enough for now, ZZZZZZZZZZZZ. I'm sure it's a one time deal and after a day or two they will all be laying still in the box looking normal, trying to play dead. Looking forward to seeing my eggs hatch and seeing them feed with the mini camera. Right now it is on a old VCR but eventually before the eggs hatch will hope to get the DVD recorder hooked up to it to record nature at it's best. Sincerely, Keith

Are you sure this is not the computer going into snooze mode? If you fail to move the mouse for a given (user definable) amount of time the computer snoozes to conserve energy. Note the coloured LED on or around the power button on the monitor. Now does it change colour when the screen goes dark? This indicates snoozing but if there is no change then it might be something different. Make and model? Windows version?

OK, Zep. You've got the banana care nailed! A couple of ornamental (you don't want to eat the fruit, because it's full of seeds) varieties can survive in cold areas, like here in NY, with that kind of care. Edible varieies, around here, have to come inside for the winter. Now to the subject at hand: I got nowhere with the Creative link. I just got an error, HTTP 404 Not Found. When I clicked on, "Publisher: Creative", I got to a place where there were so many of these things that I didn't know which one was the right one. At the Gateway link, they asked for the serial number. (0016653113) When I gave them that, and clicked on a few other things that they told me to do, I got this instruction: "Insert System Restoration Kit Drivers CD in the System Restoration Kit Window." I found the System Restoration CD, and I guess there's really only one place I can insert it. On the disc itself, it says to reinstall some old Windows operating systems, start the PC with the disc inserted, and to install system software and drivers, insert the disc while the PC is on. So, I guess I start up the PC, and put the disc in. If I remember correctly, from the few times I have used any restorations, long ago, you restore to a certain date. A date, when I still had sound, was before I took the 'puter in for service. If I restore to a date like that, while restoring my sound, am I not also restoring the problems that prompted me to take the machine in for service, in the first place?
