WANTED: Need clarification on swap theme please

Hoping not to step on anyone's toes here but I have a question.

On reading Ann's original post it seems to mean that the 3 items we are to swap are 3 of "our own" favorite things-- not that I think it's suppose to actually be that bowl you inherited from Gramma-- but it's not suppose to be an item that would fulfill someone's "wish list" either.

As such a duplicate of something we find very useful, enjoy using etc?

Ann-- please clarify-- thx

Diane, your understanding of the "theme" for this swap is perfect.

Something that we have that we think our partner would also like to have. So forget the "Wish" lists.

Actually to be honest I never shop off of wish lists. I prefer to read through past threads to find hints of things that my partner might like. It would take all the fun out of the swaps for me if I just shopped off a list.

Oh I've been like Columbo, poring over the old posts & seeing what I can find out about my partner. It's been very exciting and also a bit of a challenge.

I've enjoyed the wish lists too, but have been getting some great Christmas shopping (and "me") shopping ideas from them. It's been much more fun to play detective as far as the swap goes.

My problem is that I have far more than 3 favorite "things" when is comes to cooking.

LullabyF360, just put in a thank you card :) it is non of their business what people send but it becomes less and less obvious these days. To the OP, I was also confused. I read the thread mentioned by chemocurl several times but could not understand how people clean the received envelop to reuse it. I used a plastic bubble mailer with scotch tape in place for labels and stamps and still it can be hard to clean it. But when you send an empty envelop there is less chance the post office will put any hard to remove markings on it. To clean a plastic bubble mailer I used a used dryer sheet with a dub of dishwashing liquid and gave it a gentle scrub. Good luck and happy trading!

Peggy and Lisa, I just re-sent the information to you by e-mail and through GardenWeb. I have no idea why the first mailing didn't reach you. Please let me know when you receive it. If you can mail Tuesday or Wednesday it will be fine. I have surprised myself by working with so many of the arrivals up to this point that I'm hoping I am a little of ahead of where I supposed my schedule might be now. I'm sorry people are having trouble getting the message. Please check your spam folder in case it might be there. I have not gotten the e-mail or GardenWeb information from either of you that you hadn't received my address and the rest of the information so it's not being kind to us. Meanwhile, what great seeds everyone is sending! Many of you have made it very easy for me to distribute the seeds by sending a list or otherwise labeling themes. Thanks so much. clay lady, we would love to have you join in! Just list your 5 themes and send me your e-mail address and you are in. However, I am closing the sign ups tomorrow morning so we can all start sorting, ordering, and packing up seeds - so don't take long to list your themes and send me an e-mail message. Okay? (Nothing like putting the pressure on, but at least you found us in time!) More information will come to you and all the others by e-mail once the sign ups close and I will start a new thread here on the Round Robin Exchange page so we can keep up with what has been mailed to me, received by me, and when I mail back to you and you receive your packet. I agree with Ann!!! I'm happy getting anything that my Partner buys. You can use the "Wish List" if you want too, but I think it's more fun not knowing what you will get. I have participated in several swaps now, and everything that I have recieved, I just love. It's the surprize that's makes it special. Like Christmas!!! I'm happy with anything. Diana55

i am with ann and diana on this one. i "stalk" whatever my partner has written and then of course i fret over what to get and worry the whole step of the way, but so far, so good, at least from the feedback i've gotten.

i've been in two swaps so far and have so enjoyed the items that have been sent to me and they are items constantly in use, which is even better.

i just love the theme of this one - it's my favorite things that my partner will be getting and the funny thing is, some of my favorite things just might be my partner's.

i not only love the things i receive, but seeing and hearing about what everyone else gets too is just so neat.
