Here is how I do it, assuming you use Windows XP. We'll assume all your photos are in sub folders of the photos folder on your C:\ drive ( C:\Photos) and the CD burner is your D:\ drive if that makes sense. Insert your blank CD and cancel the invite to do something that pops up Click Start/All programs/Accessories/Windows Explorer You now have a split screen on view Click the plus sign beside C:\ in the left window Look for and click to highlight the Photos folder Now you will see all the sub folder listed in the bigger right side window Click on the top one in the right side to highlight it Hold down the Shift button and tap the End button to highlight all the sub folders Right click on any highlighted part In the drop down menu click 'Copy' Right click on D:\ (your CD burner) in the left window Click 'Paste' to copy all your photos to the CD A notice now appears near the clock telling you there are files to burn to a CD Click this and follow along. If you want to select various folders rather than all of them then instead of holding down the Shift key and tapping the End key you click to highlight the first one then hold down the Control or CTRL button and click on the folders you wish to burn to CD It really is easier to do that write out.

I know that Walmart can take your digital photos and make then into puzzles. If you have the digital photos your friend took, you can order them made up. I use Walmart for their one-hour digital photo processing, I can upload my digi photos and then I get a text message that they're ready. Try other photo processing sites like Shutterfly also. I'm not aware of a way to make your own. Sounds like it'd be a fun and unique gift for your friend. Oops....looks like Beagles and I posted at the same time! I've done both methods. The Printed Treasures printer fabric is certainly easy. My major objection is that the fabric is a bit stiff - probably why it prints so well! Also make sure you prewash all other fabrics, because the Printed Treasures seems to attract any loose dyes in the wash water, even with dye-catchers. It's also expensive, so I would suggest you do 2 to 4 photos per page, making sure to leave a margin around them for your seam allowance. Making the photos square will probably simplfy piecing. I've also done the Bubble Jet Set method. You soak the fabric, then let it dry. Iron it onto freezer paper, print, let dry for 30 minutes, the rinse with Bubble Jet Set rinse. With this method, you could use either bleached or unbleached muslin, or a broadcloth. Fabric treated this way is less likely to pick up stray dyes in the wash, and I feel it has a better hand. It's also considerably less expensive. The initial purchase of the solutions might seem a bit pricy, but you don't dump the Jet Set solution down the drain. After soaking your fabric, pour the solution back into the bottle. If you go this route, my DH bought me the most fabulous freezer paper - it's heavier than the stuff on the rolls, and it's already cut in 8.5x11" sheets. I've never seen it in fabric or craft stores, but the manufacturer is C. Jenkins Necktie Company (which made me LOL). www.cjenkinscompany.com General printing instructions - Crop photos carefully. You want more faces than background. Large group shots don't work all that well. Always do a test print on paper in draft mode, but make sure you reset the printer properties to "Best" before printing on fabric. Stock up on ink cartridges!
