I'm in Herndon, at the far western edge of Fairfax County VA just north of US 50. It takes me about 1 to 1.25 hours to get to Burtonsville, and I thoroughly enjoyed the swap last year. This year I didn't make it, having committed to a class that meets on Saturday mornings for 9 months of the year. Unfortunately for my participation in the plant-swapping community, it's a 4-year course! Yes, gas is a consideration these days, and I'm doing a lot of providing of plants in my immediate area. It's a lot of fun getting new or transplanted gardeners started. I've also done some swaps by mail, though I realize they aren't as cost-effective (or as much fun) as multiple swaps in person. The VA swap at Peter's was indeed a swap, but it co-existed on the same property with a fundraising sale and a handful of invited vendors. AFAIK, none of the usual swappers chose to sell instead of swap, and many good swaps were had by those who attended. I think I also got to the MAG swap that year. ANyhow, I'm still interested in swapping when I can, and 3 years from now, Saturday mornings in fall and spring will be available again. In the meantime, once I get used to how the coursework goes, I may be able to play hookey occasionally. Robin

LOL! You know I'm not in particular a cat lover. Not that I don't love my cats but they just happen to be mine. Suzy is the blue eyed girl that I found starving on the street a couple years ago. About three days after I brought her home she gave birth to Annie and Jessy. Suzy currently lives in my garage. I tried to bring her indoors but she took a dislike to Luna. Luna is declawed and can't defend herself so Suzy had to be put back out. I have a 10 acre homestead so Suzy has plenty of room to romp around without getting near the road. My dear friend Tuna passed away a couple years ago. Every cook needs a fan club and Tuna was my number one fan and best pal. Probably starting to confuse people with my cat names. I've had/have: Floyd Earnie Kody Tuna Yoko Big Fuzzer Luna Looski "Lulu" Suzy Annie Jessy A girlfriend from about 10 years ago or so brought house cats into my life and I have come to enjoy them very much. Catheryn's cats were older when she moved in with me and they passed away probably before I was a forum member. I also had Benny the black lab and Foxy the Papillion dogs that lived with me at one time. Someday I hope to have a nice yappy high strung little Papillion again. : ) michael & lyra

WOW! I'm way behind. I never got more than my twelve plus one extra to send and my 13 for me! Now Laura and Red both have over 40! I'll have to catch up. I got involved with taxes and some remodeling and then joined another house swap on another board that is way more involved than these cute houses. I'll get back to my happy scrappy houses soon! Unless I am making a wall hanging, which I don't intend to do at this time, my 25 blocks won't be enough. I can't wait to see what you all have come up with! I guess now that Lynn's are in the mail that leaves only judylee59 to hear from! Way to go folks!
