I don't know about what you are requesting, but you can have your gmail mails downloaded in OE. My provider does not have an e-mail server, so I have a couple of gmail accounts. I have them configured to download to Outlook Express, and this works just fine for me. I simply open OE and get my emails. Open your gmail account and click Settings. Then choose Forwarding and POP/IMAP. Tick 'Disable forwarding', and then under Status tick whichever choice you wish. The instructions are also there for configuring OE to allow gmail to be downloaded. This might be easier and better for you than trying to reverse the other action.

urlee, I know what you mean about dialup. I just got high speed in February. I did find the answer to my problem with OE. Just on the off chance something might show up I checked my e-mail settings at my server for my e-mail. When I clicked the button to make changes it showed I had nine letters (shown as dots) in my password, but I knew it should have only 8. I deleted what was there and re-entered my password and saved it. I then went to OE and low and behold it worked. I have no explanation how the password could have gotten changed since it has worked since Feb. when I got high speed and they helped me set up OE as my e-mail. I don't know what my friend did to give me a little more speed, but I don't think he would have been in my server website. Go figure? I am just glad I found it, and it is working. Owbist, I think you just fixed my problem. After becoming stuck on the deleting of the temporary files.....I skipped over a couple of steps in the repair kit. I read the part which about when suddenly messages that you sent are no longer being sent to the "Sent Folder". That is exactly what is happening here. The first step to try....was to compact all folders. That fixed my problem! I am no longer sending multiple emails. Sent emails are going to the Sent Folder. Wow.....this is great !! Do you think I should go back and complete the removing of the temporary files even though it seems my problem is solved? Owbist....I cannot thank you enough. This is the best computer help website on the internet. The Computer Help Forum has gotten me out of many jams. Don't know if this will work for mail that gets sent to the task bar but it works for the size of the mail... Just open one of the mails and re-size it to the size you want, don't close it, then open another mail and do the same thing... The close them both using the X in the upper right corner of the mail... Open another one and see if that fixed it... Rita
