I am so sorry for your family at this time. You must all be devastated. You DIL's dad was so young and she is way to young to lose a parent. My condolences to all.

The gifts from Janet are so sweet indeed. Ice Wine is fabulous and just might take the edge off and enable you and your DH to relax a little especially since your vacation was so saddly interupted.

Janet, you obviously put a lot of care into your choices for Trixie. I'm sure that sweetness must be very appreciated right now.

I was in such a hurry to post and forgot to add that Janet's DH sent a recipe for Dave's Finnish Pancakes. I am going to fix them in the morning with the maple syrup.

We have been very sad, it was so unexpected! But when we got home DS told us Blake (he just turned 2) is going to be a big brother. So Grandchild #2 is on the way and that is exciting. DIL said she didn't even get to tell her Dad about the baby on the way and I told her that he knows now!

Janet, thank you again for a wonderful sweet summer package, it has been between 101 to 109 degrees and we need something sweet!

Key lime cookies tomorro, after the pancakes. It can't get much better than that. Except when I start on the ice wine!!!

Trixie, under your circumstances, I probably would have jumped right in to making those Key Lime Cookies before I did anything else! How wonderful to have your package come now! The Canadian products sound great. Let us know how the maple spice fruit dip and the ice wine are!! The Canadian mags will be good to read.

Trixie, I am very sorry to hear of your DIL loss. I too lost both my parents when I was quite young, and it is very hard. And yes, I agree, he knows about the new baby, how bittersweet for them. You will just have to give gandbabies even more loving.

I will be anxious to hear how you enjoy the pancakes, we love them much better then regular one. I am not a bker, but want to hear how you use the edible blossoms!
