Electrolux Oven Temp Probe - problem
Comments (1)I have a brand new Eletrolux stove that does everything but grocery shop fpr me. I'm still learning all the features. I used the probe last night & I don't have the problem you do. First, you have to make sure the probe is securly plugged into oven. Then, I press 'upper oven>bake(etc)>put the temp in>press OPTIONS>PROBE>Put that temp in(155 degrees, etc.)& press START. At least I think that's the order I used. I did a pork roast last night & the probe worked great & the meat was wonderful. You can check the temp of the meat by pressing PROBE once, then, return. Good luck....See MoreDacor used range top and double ovens
Comments (2)There have been some recent threads on second hand appliances. It is likely that the oven has some electronics. Dacor has had issues with their computer boards from time to time in the past. The boards are very expensive to replace unless you can do it yourself. The rangetop might be ok. Mid range used, or lower end new? How long will used dsc range last? You have to know enough about the appliances to determine what you are willing to pay and what risk you are willing to assume. How expensive would repairs be? Are you sure the ovens are just ten years old? If you are remodeling and you use these and they go out after the cabinets are built for them will the cabinets have to be altered to fit a different set of appliances....See MoreAnyone with gas range with gas oven have problems with oven temp?
Comments (3)I have a totally gas Viking range/oven from about 2000. It was in the home we purchased 2 years ago. I love it but the ovens seem to cook about 20 degrees too hot so I have to adjust for that. I just baked a pie in the smaller oven side, and the crust did not brown, so I had to turn the heat up and then it burned a little bit, but not bad. I never had this problems in the past with electric ovens. I think an oven thermometer will help me figure out how off the temps are. I also notice there is a lot of play in the temp control knob. Kind of strange not knowing what the temp knob is really set at. Just saying that I also have similar gas oven problems. :)...See MoreAnyone have a GOOD experience with Dacor oven?
Comments (5)I know you are looking for positive but I cannot in good conscience stand by and let someone be taken in by Dacor's beautiful facade. I have 2 Dacor products -a range ER36D and the Discovery oven and I have NO working oven AND it is Christmas! They had promised me a new oven on Nov 9 2007(a third one) and now I cannot get anyone from Dacor to call me back. The range has had it's board replaced. (Before that it had a chipped door replaced.) They told me that the board had to be re engineered and the second one is worse than the first. The first seemed to be more accurate in temp but would lose temp with any load and could not be adjusted upward. Now it runs 25-30 degrees too hot and can't be adjusted upwardly-takes 30 min to move 75-100 degrees. The oven arrived all chipped up. The replacement had a crooked door and bakes very unevenly. It can't be adjusted upwardly either and loses temperature. It has had hinges and the board replaced. The kicker on Thanksgiving is that the plastic knob on the range cracked and fell off and o yes the probe plastic is split after just a few uses. The oven readings are very deceiving so it takes a little bit of time and a good thermometer to figure out what is going on. I don't know what has happened to this company, but it is very sad. I recently "redid" my kitchen including doubling it's size. You expect to have a few bumps and do along the road and we did, but everyone I worked with was great and I am thrilled with every other aspect of my kitchen. The most loyal customer is the one who has problems and they are treated right and problems are remedied. Dacor does not seem to make customer service a priotiy at all. Even the local rep does not seem to understand the concept of the return phone call. There is one positive, my neighbor has a Dacor oven and cooktop 4-5 years old and likes it. No problems. Excuse me if I am a little frazzeled. I have 4 large Christmas parties coming up and no ovens. YIKES! âââââTop 10 uses for my Dacor ovens during the holidays: lovely hiding place for Christmas gifts 9. great place to keep the wassail bowl warm no danger of getting too hot 8. Er36D oven is great eye level place for kids to view the big nativity set. 7. Frequent visits by repair techs increase and broaden my social life and forge long term relationships 6. Yippeee- another day off! (to wait for the repairman) 5. If I get tired getting ready for the holidays I can always duck in the range oven for a quick nap 4. Multi colored Discovery oven Board can be configured in Christmas colors to add a festive ambiance to the room. 3. Pull out racks make a great little snack table for Santa's milk and cookies. 2. "Well honey, with the ovens not working, I guess we'll have to eat out." 1. We found out while trying to bake cookies that these ovens really are great 1 step biscotti makers....See Morehistokitch
